"Dr. Jackie, when I tell you she knocked him on his ass!" Kirah says sitting back down in her seat
Dr. Jackie chuckled at Kirah telling her the story about Ishmail popping up at her house earlier this past weekend.
"And how do you feel about that?"
Kirah sighed "I feel bad that I didn't get to tell Ishmail in a proper way."
Dr. Jackie nodded "Understandable."
"What do you think? Is it right for me to feel that way?"
"I think it's fine to feel that way because besides you having stronger feelings for Carter, you did actually like and care for him, right?"
Kirah nodded "I did,"
"I just think that you definitely should've told him sooner to avoid the fight from happening,"
"Yeah I know. I didn't expect Carter to actually hit him."
"I'm not surprised." Jackie shrugged
Kirah rasied her eyebrows "Really?"
She chuckled and shook her head "No I'm not."
She plopped her notebook down next to her on her table, "Carter really cares about you and from what you said she's been waiting for him to get out of way so she can step in and be with you. So not only was he disrespecting her but he called you out of your name, so that just added more to fire with her already upset that he wasn't fully out of the picture."
Dr Jackie played with the pen in her hand "I actually take back what I previously said. It's 50/50, you should've called things off with him sooner to avoid what happened but I think at some point they were going to go at it."
"Yeah I think so too. But I still could've ended things with him. Me not doing that pretty much caused the whole fight."
"You think so?"
Kirah twisted her lips and shook her head "Nevermind no, Carter truly can't stand his ass."
Dr. Jackie laughed "Besides the fight, how are things between you and Carter?"
Kirah blushed "Things are so good. I mean I know it's only been a short amount of time of us being officially together but knowing her over these past few months and all of the shit that I caused for us to get here? I'm just happy we can just like breathe for once, ya know?"
Dr. Jackie nodded and smiled "Well that's good. I'm so happy to hear that, I know at one point you were contemplating on if being with her was what you truly wanted."
"And you kept telling me I was all in my head." She chuckled at their conversations weeks prior
"I did." She laughed
Kirah smiled a bit and looked down playing with the ends of her sweater "I just really want this to last longer than what I had with those guys I thought was real. Those beautiful dates with them just for them to not want me and think I'm disgusting."
