ᴏɴᴇ ᴡᴇᴇᴋ ʟᴀᴛᴇʀKirah laid on the bed facing towards the front of her bedroom while her eyes were on Carter as she paced near the bottom of the bed.
She was currently wearing a sports bra with grey sweats on, with their son and daughter on her chest; both wide awake and pulling on her skin.
It's only been a week and a half of them being born and their third day being home, but it seemed like their babies were becoming aware that they actually existed. Especially knowing that they have hands because they reached and grabbed at any and everything.
It was mainly them grabbing at Carter's face features like her ear, lips or nose. But when they didn't pull at that it was them trying to scratch their own face.
Thankfully, Carter had brought them some little pairs of mittens to help prevent that but it still didn't stop them from trying.
"You alright over there, mama?" Carter asked with a slightly worried expression on her face, seeing Kirah zone out and staring at her
"Mhm." She hummed, "You?" She questioned back with a small smile on her face
Seeing Carter in her little parent mode was so cute. And she looked good while at it.
"Yeah." She nodded, "I know you tired over there." She said locking her eyes on Kirah's low eyes
She just nodded in agreement
She hasn't quite got on a good schedule with the babies. Especially last night and with them not going to sleep until almost six this morning.
She couldn't even go to sleep once they did because she had to shower and straighten up her bedroom.
The twins room wasn't quite ready just yet, due to them still waiting on certain things to arrive to set the room up.
She knew they were behind on that but with Carter in jail it kind of had put a hold on it.
And they could've easily went to the store and got things but Kirah needed to be light on her feet especially after her scare in the hospital.
And she also didn't feel comfortable letting Carter leave her place with all the drama going on. She almost lost Carter once and she wasn't going to let Ishmail think he could officially finish the job.
So they were sleeping in the bedroom with them, which they both didn't mind one bit because they loved laying their eyes on them anytime.
But overall being sleepy or tired was an understatement for her and Carter. They had decided to let Carter take care of them during the day some she gets them through the night. But it seemed like the night shift was kicking her ass.
It was just hard for them both to go to sleep without them because they both always wanted to be up when they were so that they could make sure they were okay.
Kirah was overly concerned about their safety when she did get very little time to sleep, even though she knew Carter would never let anything happen to them.
She figured it was just one of those new mom things that she was going through.
The twins crying wasn't quite a big thing because they were honestly always quiet. The only time they did cry was when they wanted to be with Carter, wanted to be fed, or just wanted to lay on Kirah's chest.
