Pyros carried Cerastes away but i could not stand to follow. Vee chased after Pyros. I looked around the room without really seeing it. I myself was also picked up and taken away. The window broken open became smaller the further i was taken. Who carried me i wasnt sure it wasnt what mattered. My girls were gone. I replayed it over and over in my head untill i lost consciousness.
..................
I smelled the scent of citrus soap and when i woke i found myself in an unfamiliar room. The bed was large with sheets of shimmering blue. My hand glided across it. I got off the bed to find that my clothes had changed and my body was clean.
The scent of soap that clung to me was the same as the sheets i climbed out of. No servants were around but being in an unfamiliar place i had no desire to cry out and bring attention to myself. Judgeing by the walls i was still in the mountain. Not in Pyros's wing. Everything was to well kept for that. This room was wide with a sitting area. I went to the first door and leaned next to it listening quietly. When i heard no sound on the other side i gently cracked the door and peeked in.
Clothes. An entire room of them. They lay neatly folded on stacks of square shelves. Rowes and rowes organized by color. Lining all three walls from top to bottom. In the center was a table with decorative accesoories. Belts, bracelets, gloves and other items i wasnt sure what were for. But seeing this place i immediatly knew whos room I was in.
I closed the door behind me and sat down in the closet. I put my knees against my forehead and breathed slow breaths. Surely not. This is not the life Pyros promised. Did he not say i was under his protection?
However long i spent in that closet, was not long enough. Soon enough, i heard movement from the bedroom, followed by scurrying steps and an abrupt opening of the closet door. The maid who opened the door seemed visibly relieved to find me huddled there.
"Your meal is ready miss." She told me holding her hand over her rapidly beating heart. How could anyone eat at a time like this?
"Wheres Dante?" I asked.
"The lord heir is in the council meeting." She replied.
"When will he return?" I asked.
"Im not sure miss." She replied.
"Has he brought my children back?" I questioned aggressivly..
"I do not know miss." She said tucking in her head.
"Then lead me to the meeting!" I shouted.
I saw her quiver but she didnt move. I felt bad. Regretful for losing control. It wasnt her fault i couldnt keep myself together.
"My apologizes miss, he asked that you remain here till his return." The maid asked.
I ignored her and walked out of the room. Knowing he wasnt here i flung his doors open with abandon. Maybe it damages his wall or was just loud i didnt care. Outside his room was a study. A large desk with shelves and scrolls neatly aranged in squared shelves. The ink on his desk was in a fancy bottle, ornate glass. Seals aligned next to wax for melting and strings of verying colors.
I passed by it. Reigning in the desire to swip everything to the floor. Right now all i wanted was to see the chaos within me to break everything around me. I heard the maid scurrying behind me. The next door opened to balcony area overlooking the mountains. Above me was a glass ceiling held up by pillars. I could see for miles but ignored it and kept walking forward. I opened another door that and in it i found a lounge area. Many somfortable chairs and fire places were arranged but i didnt care because I knew that the large door at the end of the room was likely the exit. Theire were more maids and servers in this area. I could hear them working. I sped up faster.
