"Let go of me you infernal retch." I said yanking against Dante.

Dante tossed me back into his wing. The staff had made themselves scares. It felt like only we two were left in this place.

"Stay here and it would be in your best intrest to stay away from any windows and balconys. We cant be to carefull these days." He said turning away.

"Where do you think your going?!" I asked.

"The mass funeral took place and now theyre are more than a few loose ends to cover, and not nearly enough claws to do it." He aswered.

"Funeral.." i stamered.

The heavy door closed and lettered scrawl swept over the door like chains. I tugged at it but id didnt budge. I was again locked in a wing. Wings, tail, and backing made no difference. I screamed at the top of my lungs and began taking my anger out on the walls.

What is the point! Over and over again without fail. I rise up only to still be powerless in the end. Struggle and struggle to what end? I need more! There is no one i can rely on. And no one i can protect.

I felt the thrum in the wall the warm pulsing living heat. I stuck it again and again. The lights in the room flickered and surged.

I cant do this again. Cant feel this way again. Pyros is just the same as them all. Only selfish creatures that do whatever they want, use who ever they want to reach their own greed. He sold me off to his nephew. The one he said he cared for the most but what about my family? Would they also be sold off in end.

The life in the wall continued to crackle under my hands before giving way. But it didnt fall apart like crumbling stone or splintering wood. It moved like wet sand folding in on itself. It didnt stop with a dent. It kept moving sinking deeper and deeper into the core of the mountain. A path opened up big enough for me to fit. Light crackled like a vein through the stone.  Inviting. Beseeching me to enter. I didnt second guess it, not even to look back. I just ran forward. Heart racing. Like a caged wild animal at the first sign of escape, i bolted.
Afterall tunnels have always served me well before.

It was a familiar radiance and i chased it. I felt a rush in my chest. The smell of blood filled my nose as i came out of the tunnel and into the heart of the mountain. It was the crystal. The aura that filled the mountain, the thrill in the walls i had been feeling. The sound of a voice, was here. But the room was different than what i had seen before.

Strewn on the floor was not just crystals and soft light but the bodies of fallen dragonmen. The left overs from the massacre. Their bodys had been sliced open and in their chest crystals from the floor and walls had been neatly tucked inside. Some crystals impailed bodies dyed bright with red blood. Absorbing them like mushrooms on fallen trees.

And away from the bodies i found Cerastes there. I wadded through the blood and water to where he layed. From my knees i looked over his body. Someone had sewn him back together. As if he were a quilt and not a man. I could see the raised skin that was healing slowly. It was strands of his own hair not string that tied him back together.

But it wasnt the only difference. The most striking difference was the set of wings on his back. The black leathery skin was a striking contrast to the paleness of his skin. The color of his skin seemed to seep out into the wings, consuming their color where they met his shoulder blades.

He breathed so slowly i assumed at first that he wasnt breathing at all. Hibernation. Pyros had spoken of it, as he himself had been in hibernation for a very long time healing. I felt a pang of relief that my kids still had a father, but also the annoyance that i was still not free of the bond. That he could still find me where ever i ran.
