71.) Part of the Mountain

I petted his dark black hair. It was upsetting at first, all the ways I changed physically but seeing him the changes dont feel so bad. My hair might have gotten darker with a different texture but now it just looks like Vees. I have a tail and he has a tail. These claws look like his claws. These black horns are similiar to his. There were fewer differences between us and that wasnt bad.

Only a few differences could be found now. He has wings and I dont. Vee has eyes a vibrant shade of red. Unlike my dark brown ones. His little pointed ears and that same sharp nose are both like his father. I ran my finger over it gently.

A loud clatter echoed through the room. Vee sat up abruptly as a chest full of coins was tipped over into the floor. Jen startled looked around stiffly as if she expected to be scolded. Idelia and Aelia jumped and kicked the shiny pieces making a bigger mess. I looked back down to find Vee gripping his book tightly, his tail wrigled anxiously behind him.

"What a pretty book." I said. Vee sat with his head down cast. Jen realizing she wasnt introuble began playing with the girls, stacking coins in a tower while the girls tried to knock them down before the other could get to it.

"Can you read it to me?" I asked him.

Vee thought about it for a minuet before opening the book. He held it in his own lap and opened it to a page somewhere in the middle.

"Oh look at all that ice. It must be really cold there." I said pointing at the page. On the page was a landscape of an icy ocean where dramatic illistrations of beasts swam beneath the ice. While unsuspecting animals roamed above.

"It looks like those beasts are hungry. I wounder what they eat." I said with dramatic enthusiasm. I scooted Vee in closer. "I wonder do you think they would want to eat...these toes!" I said grabbing his feet. I grinned a wide toothy smile. Tickling the bottom of his foot.

"Noo!" He squeeled.

"Ohhh, i think they are very delicious!" I said pulling his foot closer to my mouth.

"Dont eat my toes!" He laughed.

"But i am a ice monster! So i must eat little boys toes!" I said in a silly monster voice. He squirmed and rolled away. I pretended to fight to keep ahold of him.

"Hes to strong!" I said releasing Vees foot. I gave him a head start before getting to my feet. "Im gonna eat him up!" Vee began climbing up the logs laughing. A game of tag just like we used to play. I chased after him over logs, and around the room. He jumped and sprang laughing as he was chased. He had a flying advantage but now I could jump much higher than before. I sprang off a wall and grabbed him by a thigh.

"Gotcha!" I said before blowing a rasberry on his cheek. Preoccupied with my wriggling catch, i was tackled from the side. We became a pile of five. I bundled them all together in my arms and rolled them side to side.

"What a nice blanket I have here, very warm!" I teased.

"Im not a blanket!" Jen exclaimed. Aelia and Vee wriggled next to eachother trying to escape my hold

"Oh its a wiggly blanket!" I said dramatically. "I think I need toooo, tickle it!"

They were a pile of laughs. As i used my knuckles to tickle their ribs and squeezed the bit of flesh above their knees. I gave them piggy back rides around the house and swang them in their swings. From the high balcony I let them jump to me on the lower floor, catching them and swinging them around.

When they had burned up all my energy. I dropped on to the pile of pillows with a thump. I felt the tiny poke of feathers coming through the soft pillows fabric. I plucked out a piece that was pressing against my face and flicked it away from me. I was getting sweaty and itchy again but it was probably just exertion.
