Demon.

A Demon.

The Devil.

Ji Hu's mind was whirling.

She sat silently in the police station, waiting to make yet another report about her attempted murder. But all she could think about was Gu Won confession to her – he was a demon. Ji Hu wanted to admit to herself that she didn't believe a single word coming out of his mouth but... she couldn't do that. Ji Hu always knew there was something about Gu Won that didn't sit well with her, but a demon?

The only reason she was considering it was because she saw with her own two eyes his red eyes and the tattoo healing him after that acid attack on her life. His skin was burning and melting, yet the tattoo healed those wounds with ease. Sure, he might have just been saving her to protect the tattoo, but he went into harm's way to do it.

Ji Hu was snapped out of her thoughts when Detective Park entered with the analysis. Ji Hu sat up straighter in the chair, making it seem like she wasn't just in her own little world just then.

"We analyzed the liquid on the ground, and it turned out to be sulfuric acid." Ji Hu brought her hand to her mouth, breathing through her nose. "Had it splashed directly onto your face in that concentration and amount, it would've melted it and could've been fatal." Ji Hu picked up the document, reading it over for her own mind ot understand. The person who intended on hurting her also was going after her looks, stopping her from modeling in the process.

"Fatal, you say." Ji Hu muttered, setting the document down.

"It's highly likely that they're targeting you." He didn't say. It wasn't like Ji Hu didn't figure that out with the first attempt on her life. "Is there anyone you suspect?" Ji Hu had to make it seem like she had no idea who'd do it, but Ji Hu already had several names pop into her head, and most of them were directly connected to the Mirae Group, and two of them were her siblings.

But what did enter her mind was the report about Mr. Cha.

"Does anything come to mind?" Detective Park asked.

Ji Hu shook her head. "No, sorry, Detective Park." Ji Hu was lying, and she wasn't sure if the detective could see through her lies, but she didn't need the police department sniffing around her family right now. "I can't think of anyone who would resent me enough to do that, specifically." Ji Hu wanted to think that her siblings wouldn't hurt her so badly with acid, but she wouldn't put it past them.

Ji Hu crossed her arms.

She did say if Su Ahn wanted to war with her to go ahead and do so, but Su Ahn wasn't smart enough to think about a sulfuric acid bath. That would make it impossible for Ji Hu to do her modeling job, but at the same time, Su Ahn would know that the sympathy for JiJi would be through the roof, especially if she survived the attack.

Seok Min was the only one smart enough to use something like that, but at the moment, Ji Hu hadn't spoken to Seok Min in six months, outside of necessary board meetings. The bloodbath between them was currently inactive, unless he wanted to play with fire again. Which was a possibility.

After giving her statement to Detective Park, he escorted her out. Ji Hu pushed her hair from her face as she entered the police station, seeing the detectives hard at work. Gu Won approached, hands in his pockets. "Are you finished?" he questioned.

Ji Hu cracked her knuckles, trying not to acknowledge Gu Won, but it was too late. Detective Park noticed right away. "You've been waiting for her?" Detective Park turned to Ji Hu. "It must be reassuring to have him."
