The conversation with Seok Hoon went as well as it could have gone. He saw her a picture of Gu Won from the 70s. She had to lie through her teeth about who was in the picture. She said that Gu Won looked exactly like his grandfather, she just confirmed it. Seok Hoon didn't seem convinced with what was said, but he'd let Ji Hu believe that. Ji Hu had to reassure him that she was fine with Gu Won and not to worry, she knew everything she needed to about him.
Which was the truth.
Ji Hu had sent Ms. Shin and Seong Min away for the evening, letting them go home before it turned dark. Now Ji Hu sat in the dark, waiting for Gu Won to return home. She suspected he'd sneak back in because he couldn't just live in his car for the rest of his life while he married to her. Ji Hu waited until she heard the door click open.
She heard Gu Won trying to be quiet as he walked slowly into the apartment. When he sat on the couch, Ji Hu turned on the light above her head. Gu Won looked up, freaking out upon seeing her sitting in the dark waiting for him. He jumped up from the couch quite comedically.
Ji Hu started laughing at his reaction. Gu Won didn't like being laughed at, but Ji Hu enjoyed scaring a demon half to death. "So you came back home at night?" Ji Hu asked through her laughter.
"You're still up."
Ji Hu allowed her laughter to die down, nodding her head with a grin on her face. "It's not actually like I could go to bed without knowing where you were."
"Were you worried about me?" Gu Won asked.
"As if." Ji Hu answered quickly. Ji Hu stood up from the chair, approaching Gu Won. "More like I'm counting down the days until I can get that Pororo tattoo." Ji Hu said. Ji Hu went to walk by Gu Won to go to bed for the night now that she knew that Gu Won wasn't dead, but Gu Won stopped her.
"I'd like to charge up."
"Now?"
Gu Won nodded.
When Ji Hu agreed, she didn't expect to have Gu Won lying next to her. They were laying side-by-side, his hand around her wrist. Ji Hu had shared a bed with other people before, that wasn't the issue. The issue was that this was the first time she was sharing her bed with Gu Won, legally her husband. "Do you really think this will make your powers stop flickering?" Ji Hu asked, knowing that neither of them were asleep.
"We should try what we can." Gu Won said.
"Is it time for a new deal?" Ji Hu asked.
"There are no signs of spontaneous combustion." Gu Won said.
"Too bad."
Gu Won squeezed her wrist. Ji Hu flinched at the sudden pain.
"I may have used up my powers while taking us around." Gu Won stated.
Ji Hu nodded. "Okay, I'll believe that." Honestly, Ji Hu wishes she knew what caused the flickers, but she also wished she knew why that tattoo transferred in the first place. "We should be more careful with your powers then, just in case." Ji Hu asid, echoing what he said yesterday.
Gu Won took a deep breath. "Don't mind me and go to sleep."
Ji Hu made a face. "Do demons not sleep?"
"No."
Ji Hu hm-ed. "That's interesting. I didn't know that." Ji Hu took a deep breath. "Well, I'm not used to someone touching me while I'm sleeping, so we both might stay up." Ji Hu said, adjusting her arm slightly. "Can you loosen your grip a little? I promise not to move too much, but..." Gu Won loosened his grip, allowing Ji Hu to move her arm and wrist into a more comfortable position. "Thank you."
