Ji Hu was nervous; she wasn't going to lie about it. However, she knew that they weren't going to stop until the tattoo was back on Gu Won's wrist. Ji Hu planned on not telling Gu Won about that Ga Young gave her, those pills were discarded a while ago, but she also didn't want to worry him. Ji Hu had no plans on killing herself tonight – the tattoo would go back onto Gu Won's wrist; she just knew it would happen.

Ji Hu stared ahead of them while Gu Won drove. The drive was quiet. Ji Hu suspected that Gu Won still thought she was angry with him for lying. And technically, Ji Hu was. If he was just honest with her, she would have thought about it, but ultimately, Ji Hu would still have agreed to this plan.

Jumping into the water was the last thing she really wanted to do.

Ji Hu felt Gu Won squeeze her hand. She glanced down at their hands that were sitting in the center console. Ji Hu looked up, giving Gu Won a smile.

Going back to the beach that started it all, Ji Hu rested her head on Gu Won's shoulder. The beach was peaceful – even if Ji Hu felt like she was getting punched in the gut. The last time she sat on that beach, her attacker made his first contact with her. She knew he was dead, but the memories were still there. Despite everything Gu Won had done for her, Ji Hu couldn't stop those insane thoughts that came back to her in one big wave.

She was in her drunken state, not paying attention to who her driver looked like. She knew better than that, but Ji Hu also wouldn't be in this situation right now if she hadn't gotten into that car.

Ji Hu looked ouy over the ocean. "I guess you get to have a birthday now." She felt Gu Won's eyes on her. "You'll be reborn as a demon again, after tonight." Ji Hu said, keeping her eyes on the water.

"It feels rather nice to think I'll get a birthday." Ji Hu turned her head to look at Gu Won, a smile on her face. They smiled at each other for a little bit before Ji Hu snuggled herself against Gu Won's side. The wind blew in Ji Hu's face, messing with her hair. She pushed some out of her hair. Gu Won tightened his grasp on Ji Hu's hand. As Ji Hu leaned against Gu Won, she felt his lips against her forehead. She smiled softly.

They stayed on that beach until it was pitch black out. Ji Hu knew that Gu Won was stalling for time. Hell, she was stalling for time. They didn't know if this would work – they both were going in blind, unaware of what could happen. Nothing could happen, the tattoo could remain on Ji Hu's wrist and Gu Won could die. There were too many factors that went into tonight's task. Everything could go wrong.

"Shall we?" Gu Won asked, turning his attention to Ji Hu. Ji Hu was startled by Gu Won's sudden question. She was too far into her head to realize he was ready to go. Ji Hu nodded, evne though she was starting to feel a little anxious.

Gu Won stood up, holding out his hand for Ji Hu. Ji Hu felt safe with Gu Won, no matter what happened. Whatever happened, Ji Hu knew that Gu Won would still protect her. Ji Hu held onto Gu Won's arm, taking a deep breath. She hadn't been to that spot where she was nearly kidnapped and fell into the water with Gu Won. Ji Hu wasn't sure how she'd react to being there again.

Ji Hu started the conversation, "I certainly hope this goes better than the time you pulled me into the Han River. At least, this time, you told me beforehand." Ji Hu flashed a smirk in his direction. She pulled out her phone, seeing a text message from Seong Min.

"That was a rehearsal for today." Gu Won said.

"Yeah, you keep telling yourself that."

"We're almost there." Gu Won commented. Ji Hu nodded, answering Seong Min's text. "Everything will soon go back to normal." Ji Hu looked up from her phone, nodding her head. She lowered her phone to her lap, squeezing Gu Won's hand. Ji Hu's attention was drawn to the alert from the car.
