Somehow I managed to get another hour's sleep until 9, when mum woke me up to tell me Lisa was here. I thought it was weird she was here this early, but then I remembered last night I told her to come over. I got up and followed mum downstairs, finding Lisa stood in the hallway.
"Morning baby girl!" she grinned.
"My room, now. I need girl talk." I murmured, pulling her upstairs.
Lisa didn't ask any questions, she just let me drag her to my bedroom and sit in the middle of my bed.
"Come on, spill!" she demanded "What is it?!"
"I'm gonna tell you who I've been dating." I grinned, earning a squeal from her.
"OH MY GOD!" she screamed.
"Lis, calm down." I chuckled, listening out for movement.
Nobody was outside my door, so I felt safe to continue. There's no way in hell anybody else is hearing about this yet!
"Okay..." I sighed. "The person I've been seeing...is Jack."
The second I said his name her jaw dropped. I knew she was thinking about all the times I cried to her because of Jack, but even she knew deep down that I loved him. Her mouth opened and closed repeatedly, making her look like a goldfish. I was getting bored of the silence, so I spoke up.
"Lisa say something." I giggled, shaking her slightly.
"I'm s-sorry, I-I just..." she stuttered. "I never expected you to say Jack after....well, y'know..."
I nodded; I knew exactly what Lisa was thinking. She was about to say something else but she shook her head discreetly and hugged me.
"I'm just glad you're happy now." smiled Lisa. "But if he breaks your heart, I'll pound his ass." she added, trying to sound threatening.
I giggled loudly. My best friends really know how to make me smile!
"So who else knows?" she asked.
"Only Rian and Kara." I said dismissively. "He arranged all of our dates in the back room at Rita's...and I had to tell someone, and Kara was the first person I thought of!"
"Why didn't you tell me?" she asked quietly, sounding pretty hurt.
"I didn't want Alex to find out." I mumbled. "But I did want to tell you, Lisa! I was...scared!" I added quickly before she could argue.
"I understand." she sulked.
"No, Lisa, don't be like this." I said, taking hold of her hand. "You know what I'm like when I have crazy thoughts! And the thought of you telling Alex...well that was beyond crazy! I don't why I ever thought such a thing, but you know now and that's all that matters."
Lisa nodded in agreement. We spent the next couple of hours just talking about anything that came to mind, until Zack came in. He had his bass swung over his shoulder and a slightly worried look on his face.
"Sup Zacky?" I asked.
"I keep fucking up the bass line in Running From Lions!" he raged, kicking my door shut behind him.
"Alright chill out bro! Don't worry, I'll drum it out for you."
Zack nodded, obviously still stressed, and watched me practically dive over my drum kit to my stool. I really needed to move this fucking thing; I have no escape route! I saw Lisa's face spread into a smile as Zack and I played the song, jelling perfectly. Drum and bass always sound sweet together. You don't need guitars really to make a decent song; a song is nothing without a bass line or some form of percussion behind it. I started to sing along loudly, not caring about my best friend and brother being in the room with me.
"Don't forget, we've got unfinished business, stories yet to unfold, tales that must be retold! And I regret not knowing when to put an end to all this madness, keeps me wanting, keeps me wanting, keeps me wanting, keeps me wanting moooooooore..."
"WOO! That's my girl!" cheered Lisa.
"Got it Zacky?" I panted, throwing my drum sticks down to the floor.
Zack played the one part he'd been messing up on and smiled broadly when he'd got it. He played it again, smiling even wider when he nailed it again. Zack looked up at me and nodded.
"Thanks, Lily." he said quietly.
I briefly bro-hugged him, much like the guys always do, then flopped onto my bed again.
"Aren't you going to see Kara soon?' Zack asked, frowning slightly.
"Oh shit!" I gasped, running to my closet.
I started rummaging for something to wear, throwing various items of clothing over my shoulder. I finally found a Simple Plan shirt and started to take my pj's off, which Zack took as a cue to leave.
"Lily have some self-respect!" tutted Lisa, shielding her eyes as I walked around the room on a hunt for jeans in just my underwear and a shirt.
"Oh zip it, Ruocco." I snapped, sticking my tongue out at her.
I finally found a pair of jeans and converse, making Lisa happy that I was finally decent. It was almost 12, so we decided to make our way to Kara's place. The second we got outside, Lisa started to smirk slightly. I knew exactly what she was thinking; she's like an open book is Lisa.
"Soooo...is Kara code for Jack?" she chuckled, wiggling her eyebrows at me.
"No! I'm actually going to see her!" I protested. "Although I did only say it at first so Zack wouldn't get suspicious as to why I'm at Jack's early..."
"Lily Lily Lily..." tutted Lisa.
"What?! I bet you always used to feed your brothers and the guys some bullshit when you were sneaking off to meet Alex!" I laughed.
"We never used to sneak off!" she gasped, blushing slightly. "We just...wanted to be alone. Enjoy each other's company." she added, blushing even more.
Lisa's face got redder and redder, making my smirk grow wider as we walked along the street. I teased her constantly about her and Alex as we got nearer to Kara's place, all of which varied from little things to things that were a huge deal - one of which was a song Alex wrote, called 'Noel'.
"Will you fuck off talking about that fucking song." she snapped.
I'd convinced myself it was about Lisa, due to the fact the title is her fucking middle name. She constantly denies it, so does Alex, but pretty much everyone has come to the same conclusion as me. Myself and the guys had plenty of theories as to what the song was specifically about, but I didn't want to piss Lisa off any further, so I left it there.
