September 2005 - Age 17
Pretty much everyone knows about me and Jack now, yet I'm still no closer to uncovering who actually told Zack about us in the first place. It's safe to say our parents were pissed about it, but after many arguments with them, both myself and Jack managed to convince them we were in love. Carla was still being a bitch about it all - according to her, Jack and Jack alone is the reason why I started cutting. He wasn't. Sure, he was kinda the trigger that made it worse, but I was cutting way before then, because I was bullied and no one gave a shit. Oh yeah, I'm refusing to call her "mom" now. She's being such a bitch and isn't even acting like a mother in any way, shape or form, so why should I give her a title she doesn't deserve?! Dad's pretty much the only one who'll speak to me; Zack just refuses to speak to anyone. The only time he leaves his room is for band practice, and even then he just plays the songs and comes back home when they're done. I wasn't allowed to go - apparently I'd 'distract Jack' - and I don't intend on going either, until they admit who told Zack. Although, Jack still sneaks over to my place every couple of nights and we spend the night together, then he leaves in the morning. It's not the best arrangement, but that's the only way we're guaranteed some proper Jack and Lily time. I also swore to Zack I wouldn't breathe a word about his cutting to anyone. Carla didn't know, because dad came to the hospital alone. We just told her he fainted and I washed his sheets before she saw the blood on them. He'd only spoken to me once in the last month; to thank me for not telling. I was back to keeping secrets again, but at least not all of them were mine. Right now I was out on the roof waiting for Jack, smoking to my heart's content. The make-shift rope ladder sat by my side, which Jack now used to climb up here - he fell down the drain pipe a few weeks ago! Soon enough, he came through the trees at the end of the garden and smiled up at me. He started running, so I threw the ladder down and he was soon by my side.
"I missed you." I breathed.
"I missed you more." he breathed back.
"I highly doubt that." I smirked. "Was practice awkward yesterday?"
"Awkward?" he snorted. "That's the understatement of the century."
"That bad, huh?" I murmured, feeling myself blush slightly.
"Hey it's not your fault." he smiled, rubbing my arm.
I smiled weakly at Jack, then turned my attention back to the setting sun. That's the fifth time he's said that in the last 2 weeks and it was starting to niggle at me. I've only ever said something about it being my fault once, which was to Zack - but he wouldn't have told Jack that. Alex tells me at school that they don't even speak at practice, in fact Zack doesn't speak to anyone except Rian's mum. I chanced a look at Jack; he was staring out at the sun like I was, and I found my chance to eye him suspiciously. Something is seriously bugging him. He usually tells me he loves me about 10 times a day, but recently I've been lucky to even have him say it once to me. It annoyed the hell out of me that he felt the need to say it so often, but it's Jack and that's how he expresses himself. I actually missed hearing him say it.
"I'm going inside." I murmured, climbing over him.
I jumped off the window ledge, landing in the middle of the floor - an art I'd perfected over the last few weeks - and started to undress. Jack finally came inside as I pulled the huge Blink shirt that I used for sleeping over my head, then I dived into bed and snuggled under my covers.
"It's not even 7 yet, Lil." he chuckled, sitting on the edge.
"Well we're home alone." I breathed, smirking as I sat up again.
"What are you insinuating?" he smirked.
His smirk continued to grow as I leaned closer to him, my breath slightly tickling his cheek and rebounding onto my own face as I breathed.
