Jack

"Sorry guys...I need the bathroom." mumbled Lily, slightly staggering out of the room.

A look of alarm spread across Zack's face as she did and he shared a worried glance with Lisa. I looked round at everyone; they all looked a little scared or worried.

"You don't think she'll...y'know...do you?" Kara asked quietly, hardly taking her eyes of the carpet.

"No way. I mean, it's been almost 3 months. She wouldn't relapse now." said Alex, shaking his head slightly with his eyebrows knitted together.

I couldn't hold my curiosity in any longer. They all knew something about Lily that I didn't, and I was sick of not knowing. No one had spoke about her to me once in the last 3 months, and I never saw her in school because she had a special tutor now. I sat forward and quietly cleared my throat.

"Someone better tell me what the fuck is going on." I said loudly, startling them all. "You're all freaking me out and I wanna know!"

Rian nudged me. He nodded out to the hallway as he got up of his seat, signalling for me to follow him. I walked out of the living room and stood in front of Rian. He shut the door behind me.

"Jack," he said quietly. "You haven't seen Lily in a while...because she was in therapy."

My heart sank. Her life was that fucked up she had to go and see some douchebag to be told how messed up she really was?! Fuck.

"Why?" was all I managed to say.

"She....she was cutting." he murmured. "She wasn't eating, she was drinking excessively...and don't even get me started on the pot."

"Rian she's fucking 16!" I hissed. "She's the same age as us! How the fuck can she have so many problems?!"

"Because she didn't want to ruin the friendship she had with you, you ass!" he yelled.

I stared at Rian, totally dumbfounded. I didn't want to believe him, but deep down I knew he was right. All of this probably wouldn't have happened if I hadn't opened my stupid mouth and told her how I felt. She'd be happy, and we'd still be friends...probably. I wanted to go upstairs to her, but I didn't because I wasn't sure how Rian would react.

"Go and talk to her." he said quietly, as if he'd read my mind.

"Seriously?"

"Just go before I say something I'll regret." he sighed.

Rian went back to the others, whilst I went upstairs to Lily. I went to the bathroom, but she wasn't in there. I panicked slightly. Where the fuck did she go?! I was about to go back downstairs, when I heard a someone let out a long breath. It sounded like it was coming from Rian's bedroom, but there wasn't anyone in there; the door was open so I could see into the room. Then, I noticed the window was wide open. Quietly, I walked across the room and stood at the window. I stuck my head out, and there she was.

"What the fuck do you want?" she snapped, taking a drag and blowing the smoke in my face harshly.

"To talk." I sighed. "To just talk, Lily. Me and you. No one else."

Her face spread into a look of disgust, but she still shuffled over slightly to let me sit with her. I carefully climbed out, not wanting to fall, and perched next to her. Lily seemed so relaxed, just sitting on the roof and smoking away. Obviously this is all she did at home...

"Right, speak." she ordered.

"Um, well..." I mumbled. "Rian just told me, about the last few months. I-i had no idea-"
