Hailey smiled at Clint as she walked to him, to which he answered by a small shrug.
"Hey you" she said softly before hugging him, "We missed you last Christmas"
"Yeah... sorry about that" Clint smiled down at her.
"It's really good to see you again, I missed you" she nodded, blinking through her tears.
She hadn't seen Clint in years, probably since the Sokovia accords, which seemed like a century ago now.
"Missed you, too" Clint placed a hand on her shoulder.
"I kinda dig the mullet" she chuckled as she looked at his hair.
"Ah, yeah I.. tried something" he chuckled, kind of embarrassed as he ran a hand through his hair.
"No no, I like it" she smiled, "Fits you"
"Yeah... didn't you do something to your hair, too?" Clint frowned.
"Yeah, I got some highlights" she shrugged, "Kinda like it. It's different but not too much"
"Okay, we wouldn't want to interrupt this really important conversation about hairstyle but we've got time travel stuff to go back to" Natasha interrupted them.
"Right!" Hailey exclaimed.
Natasha smiled and Clint smiled down at Natasha. Hailey looked between the two and pressed her lips together. Natasha's smile faded when she noticed Hailey.
"Oh no, you're not gonna cry, are you?" she said before looking at Clint, "All she does lately is cry, I swear that's crazy"
"I'm so sorry, I just.." Hailey chuckled, "Just realized it's been a really long time since we were standing all the three of us together. That's all"
As she stood with Clint and Natasha, all Hailey could think about was all those times with them, when they still called her Roxane and she was still with Hydra. Going on missions, spending Christmas together with Clint's family, sleeping at each other's apartment. Hailey missed that more than anything.
"Okay, guys, let's not all start crying" Steve clapped his hands behind them.
The trio chuckled and Hailey blinked away her tears. Natasha then intertwined her fingers with Steve's before walking away with him.
"So tell me. How long has that been going on?" Clint tilted his chin towards the couple.
"Woah, you've been away for a really long time! They've been together for like three years"
"That much?" Clint frowned.
"I know! I mean, I was expecting some commitment issues to ruin it but they are strong together. It's awesome, really. They really make each other happy"
"She deserves it so much. They both do" Clint sighed softly.
"Yeah they really do. Now come on, Bruce and Scott are doing some weirdly cool things"
"Oh yeah let's go check that out" Clint said.
Clint and Hailey came in the room the minute Scott shrank to small size and then back to normal size in a second.
"One test run" Scott said and Rhodey sighed, "Alright; I'm not ready for this"
"I'm game" Clint spoke up and everyone turned to him, "I'll do it"
Moments later, Clint was dressed in Scott's suit. Hailey was watching him with worry, as he would be the first one to go back.
"Wait a second" Rhodey said, "Let me ask you something. If we can do this, you know... go back in time, why don't we just find baby Thanos, you know and..." he then made a sign of choking.
