"Just you" he whispered, swallowing as he bobbed his head down, "There's nothing in my head but you" he softly chuckled, making her heart literally stop.
"What ?" the word escaped her lips before she could even think about it. It was barely even a w...

"Nicholas J. Fury" Alexander's voice echoed through the room.
"What about him ?" Hailey asked, without tearing her eyes away from her phone.
"I want him dead. By tonight. I don't care how you do it, just do it"
Hailey's breath got stuck in her throat but she made sure not to show any reactions. She closed her eyes for less than a second, trying to control the waves of emotions rushing over her. Nick... He had been a father figure to her, he had helped her, welcomed her and treated her as his own. And now she had to kill him.
She didn't even question the order, she felt awful about it and didn't understand why the order had been given to her but the fact was that it had been given to her and she knew she had to complete the assignment no matter what.
"Okay" Hailey simply said, not wanting to say more because she was scared her voice would break. She was already thinking about the way she was going to murder him. She didn't want him to see her face or know it was her.
"We're gonna wake up the Soldier. Be ready" Alexander announced before leaving the room.
Hailey couldn't help it but her heart jumped in her chest at the Soldier's mention. It had been so long since she hadn't seen him. Ever since she had learned her real identity, actually. So much had happened since it felt like decades since she had last seen him.
Her heart melted at the idea of seeing him again and she immediately got up. She walked to the room where the Soldier had been kept in for the last three years. She had been in that room countless times over the years, she would just sit there and wait for something herself didn't know. She couldn't see his face, the glass was covered in ice but she knew he was in there and that simple fact comforted her slightly.
Scientists and doctors were already gathered in the room when she arrived. Somehow, she was a little bit disappointed. She wanted to be alone with him, like before. She stepped closer into the room but a doctor stopped her from going any further.
"Uh, miss ? The tube is going to open any time soon, you might want to step away for a bit"
"Oh. Of course" she gently replied as she took a few steps away.
The thing with Hailey was that, she always rejected the same vibe people gave her. If you were mean or disrespectful to her, she would destroy you. If you were kind and gentle, she would instantly become your friend.
She silently watched as the ice slowly melted away and once the tube started to open, Hailey watched as hope filled her eyes, arms crossed across her chest. She took a deep breath as the smoke faded away to let the Winter Soldier in sight for everyone.
