Mia
I walked out of the smoke spot and immediately grabbed my things from the last class that I was just in. I made sure not to cry. He hurt me and he can't even see that. I was a charity case to him.
I knew I was more than that, he just couldn't acknowledge it, unfortunately.
I walked into the counselor's office and started to make my schedule change. He had the old one memorized, not this one. Would he figure it out? Most likely. Would I put a restraint on it? Absolutely. Leave me the hell alone.
As I made my way down to the choir classroom, I sat in the back and waited patiently for the teacher. I sat next to a blonde girl. She was very pretty. I then looked down to see a girl who looked around my age, smiling up at me. She was Hispanic but god, she was beautiful.
Then, there was a tall guy to a girl who looked like me but she had blue eyes. I, however, minded my business.
When the teacher entered, she asked for my name. "Mia Parker," I said. She smiled. "Welcome to the concert choir, you'll find yourself having a lot of fun here. Especially if you like to perform."
The girl with the blue eyes then turned in her seat which was across the room and looked at me, gaping. She smiled and waved. I waved back and texted Ace about what just happened.
'I'll shoot him.'
'Who am I to complain?'
This class was getting ready for its annual spring performance. Wait, holy shit. My birthday was this month. It was coming up in two weeks. March 27th. Holy fuck. I was gonna be 18.
Woah. That's fucking freaky.
It's already March?
I then finished doing what I needed to do for this class before walking putting my chair up and grabbing my bag. It was so fucking heavy for no goddamn reason. I then headed to leave but I was stopped.
"Hi, I'm Skylar. I'm everyone in the choir's, Mom. I'm gonna add you to our choir family group chat. I've never seen you around here before but, if you need anything. Just text that number. I got your back."
I laugh. "I've been going here since I was a freshman. We just never had classes together." She nodded. "That makes sense. You seem like you're nice and I like your energy. You aren't jumping all over the place and it's honestly refreshing. You're a lot like me. You seem to have a few more brain cells to rub together honestly."
I smile. A genuine one.
It was refreshing. She was so nice and kind and beautiful.
I loved the red hoodie she was wearing too.
"I'll text you in the group chat and then maybe tomorrow, we can get lunch?" She offered. "Sure, I'd like that a lot."
"Cool, I'll see you then."
We then exited the building and I went to Ace's car.
"How was school?" He asked.
I nodded and smiled. "It was good, really good. Why are you picking me up?" I raised an eyebrow. "I usually walk."
"Because I felt like it. Also wanted to see if Jaeden was anywhere near you." He admitted honestly. That was nice of him. I would appreciate that. "Thanks but like, don't you have to be back at the nursing home?" He then gave me a look and I laughed. "What did you just say?"
"Like don't you gotta be an adult or something? I mean, I appreciate the offer and it's like really nice but um-"
"Just shut up." I nodded. "Okay."
We drove back to the house and I smirked the entire way there. "Last I heard, you were turning eighteen this month. Guess what? That makes you just as old. You'll be adulting sooner than later."
"That is not true. I have till I graduate. Then I don't know what the fuck I'm going to do with my life. Anyways, I'm gonna go do my homework. Thanks again." I then went up to my bedroom and put in my headphones, starting on my French homework. I needed to catch up with them and had no idea what I was doing.
