(A/N: you might want to reread the last chapter for any of this to make sense ik it's been a while. Enjoy!!!)
She's here. Jordan thought. The only thing he could think of really. She's alive.
Then Jordan felt a strange feeling of dread. What if Maia had been alive the whole time? Clary never actually used the words 'Maia died' Jordan had just assumed.
None of that mattered now. She was here. She was with him.
Jordan had been so busy kissing his undead girlfriend, he had completely forgotten about Jace.
Alec had called one of the Silent Brothers and Simon was holding Clary in his arms. Her shoulders were spasming in little sobs, but no tears fell down her face.
Three girls that looked vaguely familiar stormed down the stairs. Jordan remembered seeing them before but he hadn't actually met them yet. From their reaction at Jace's body, though, they had obviously been with the rest of the gang long enough to know what was going on.
Jordan could tell no one was expecting Jace to show up unannounced. Especially not for free. There was always a price with Sebastian. So this was a very big surprise.
"Magnus?" Alec murmured quietly and have him a curt nod. His way of saying thank you and hi at the same time.
"That's all I get?" Magnus tossed his arms up in the air. "It's been weeks since I last heard from you and you were in a hospital bed! So I show up with your half dead brotherish person and all you have to say is my name?!"
Alec flushed but said nothing. Everyone shifted from foot to foot until one of the girls, a blonde vampire, spoke up, "Is anyone going to fill me in on these two?" she gestured lazily towards Jordan and Maia.
"What is there to talk about?" Maia hissed narrowing her eyes. Wolves and vampires would never get along no matter how hard they tried.
"I don't know maybe the fact that you're alive?" she spat.
The girl next to her with purple eyes placed an arm on her shoulder as if to hold her back.
"Wait a minute," Magnus looked at Alec, then the purple eyed girl, then back. "I'm gone for two weeks tops and you've already found a new warlock?"
Isabelle butted in. "We figured it would be easier to have someone on our side who would stick around, not just walk out when things get a little rocky in their relationship with my brothers."
Magnus' eyes became more cat like and he seemed to start radiating. "I'd like to see a newbie like her do half the things I've done for you guys!" then he walked out the door and slammed it shut.
"I'm a witch by the way!" Jade shouted after Magnus.
"Iz..." Alec trailed off giving his sister his 'I couldn't be more done with you' look. He jogged a few steps and out the door to catch up with the warlock.
"What did I do?" Izzy threw her arms in the air and shook her head.
A sudden gasp and Jace jerked up leaning against the wall next to him. "Jace!" Clary exclaimed and rushed over to him.
He gestured for her to leave him alone but of course she didn't listen. She placed a hand on his arm to help him up and removed it quickly. "Ouch!" she cried more in surprise then actual pain. Her hand had a slight burn on it but nothing an iratze couldn't fix.
"Clary," Jace could hardly speak. His eyes were sad and he looked exhausted. He had blood caked on his wrists and his lips were so dry from dehydration, Clary would've gotten him a water if she wasn't so content on spending time with him awake. He glanced around the room and his eyes fixated on Maia.
"You." Jace said so venomously even Jordan took a step away from her.
Jace's eyes were wide and he whispered to Clary two words; short and clear. "Don't... Trust..." Then he collapsed once again.
"When is Zachariah getting here?" Clary demanded hardly remembering his final warning.
"He should be here any minute." Iz said as a side note but she was staring right at Maia. "I knew we couldn't trust you."
Clary blocked out the argument that had broke out between Maia and everyone else. She just focused on the image that appeared on her closed eyelids.
She scrambled for her stele and frantically traced the image as best she could onto Jace's arm. Four circles in a line and one small dot within each of them. She didn't know what it was, but she knew it would help Jace. That was all she could focus on. Even when sharp pain surged through the back of her skull and her vision went completely black.
