Clary gasped.
Maia.
What did she do? She was so focused on getting Simon out, she had completely forgotten what Sebastian had told her.
He has a friend now.
Not anymore. Maia just died and she could've stopped it. What would she tell Jordan?
"Clary?" Jace said worry plain in his tone.
"Maia was there." She whispered. "Maia was there and we didn't even acknowledge her. We didn't even see her." She broke down.
Jace came over and wrapped his arms around her. Simon was knocked out, but what would he say when he heard?
"Hey guys... Clary!" said a voice from the doorway. She turned to see her worst fear.
"Jordan." Her breath hitched. "I'm so sorry."
"Clary it's not your fault." Jace whispered in her ear.
"Yes it is! I should've seen her! She was one of our best friends and now she's gone!"
She directed the scream at Jace, but Jordan barely whispered "What?" before turning around and leaving.
"I'm taking Simon to a room." Izzy said. She ran into the first empty room she saw, kicked the door open and dragged in Simons limp body.
"Need any help?" a small voice said from the doorway. Celia stood there fidgeting with her small hands.
Izzy wiped a tear away. Why was she crying? She was a Shadowhunter. This happened all the time. "Thanks." She choked and the small child lifted Simons feet onto the bed while Izzy grabbed his arms.
"Do you want me to leave?" Celia asked noticing the way Isabelle looked at the limp vampire.
"No. I'll let him rest too." Izzy said before running down the hallway, slamming the door to her room and crying.
"Wake up you selfish little..." he didn't have time to finish his sentence.
Her eyes shot open and stared at those cold black ones. She shrieked and leaned back onto the wall. She looked over but Simon wasn't with her.
Where did he go? "Maia." Sebastian said. "I need you to do yourself a favor."
Maia was startled by this request. "Drink." Sebastian said holding a cup to her lips. It wasn't the mortal cup, but Maia still didn't want to take any chances.
She spit in it. "Where is Simon?"
Sebastian smiled. "He ran off with my sister and Angel Boy. They left you here."
"No." She shook her head refusing to believe it. "No they would never."
But Sebastian had caught her jaw and poured the substance down her throat. She only remembered an evil smile entering her thoughts before she blacked out.
I'm really starting to enjoy writing this. Does anyone like it? I'm not even sure I'm doing a good job.
