He shoved his hands in his pockets and pulled his beanie down so it covered his ears. He wasn't used to feeling this cold. North Dakota sure is different than New York.
Jordan hasn't seen anyone from the New York Institute since he found out. He knew if he did, he would most likely punch them in the face and walk away like it was nothing. But he had to remain calm. He asked the Praetor if he could be reassigned. Of course, when they heard the news, they obliged. But they also relocated him.
He was actually headed to Magnus Bane's winter house. Apparently, he likes to settle down from his 'extravagances' and come here in early December so he has extra money for Christmas shopping.
Jordan was going to ask Magnus a favor. If the warlock refused, there was a small dagger in Jordan's back pocket and, despite his personal feelings for him, it may come down to that.
He dodged a few stray pedestrians on the side of the street and turned. Only one block to go...
A man with messy blonde hair flew out the doorway to the left of Jordan. He pressed his palms against the brick wall before turning around and smiling victoriously. Then collapsing.
Jordan recognized the cocky Shadowhunter without a second thought, but had to do a double take when he saw two handprints burned into the brick of the building next to them. "Jace?"
He tried to touch Jace's body and yanked his hand back. It was as if he were a walking flame. Jordan shrugged off his jacket and wrapped it around Jace before slinging his limp body over his shoulder and running the last block.
He kicked down the warlocks door and placed Jace down as gently as he could before wrenching his burned hands away. Magnus was sitting on the couch with a plate of cookies in front of him. He wore a dark emerald robe with sparkles everywhere and bunny slippers. His hair was almost normal, gelled up into little points, but at the tip of each point was neon pink hair dye.
He merely looked at Jordan before calling, "You'll have to pay for the damages, you know."
Jordan's eyes were wide and unbelieving. "It's Jace! He needs-"
"Let me finish my episode of Project Runway. There's one minute left." He said not moving.
Jordan's jaw clenched and he took two long strides before balling the warlocks robe up in his fist. "Listen, he's not going to live that long if you don't do something. Now." He shook with fury.
Magnus sighed and hit the off button. "Fine, but if someone spoils who gets out, it's on you."
Magnus walked over to Jace's unconscious form. "He's hot." Jordan said.
"No kidding." Magnus said and knelt down. "Anymore obvious things to cover?"
"No I mean he's burning up." Jordan tried to explain.
Blue sparks flew from the warlocks fingertips and Jace's chest stopped rising and falling. "Did you just kill him?" Jordan asked, unbelieving. Magnus started casting a spell hastily.
When he stopped muttering, he looked at Jordan. "Are you coming?"
His mouth thinned into a firm line and he nodded. Then a portal opened up behind him. He picked up the Shadowhunter and stepped through. Jordan followed.

She awoke with a cool breeze from the open window and the sun shining in her eyes. A familiar face was leaning against the coffee table. His lolled back head indicated he was asleep. She needed to find Clary. That was her assignment. Simple enough.
Only if you forget the fact that everyone in the house hated her at this moment.
She just needs to win back their trust.
"Simon?" she tried to ask it like she was half asleep.
His head jerked up too quickly and he had to rub the back of his neck. "Good morning." He mumbled. Then checked his watch. "Or afternoon."
Maia forces a laugh and winces. Her hand grazes her jaw lightly. "That girl of yours sure does pack a punch."
Simon laughed under his breath and stood up. "What are you doing?" Maia asked as he turned the corner and headed for the stairs.
He never got to answer that question because the door swung open with a loud crash. Then Magnus was running in with a (what looked like) dead Jace in his arms.
Magnus locked eyes with the vampire. "Call Zachariah." He said.
"What happen-" a gasp cut off the rest of Clary's statement. She looked like she was ready to jump on him and cry at the same time but Magnus placed a hand on her shoulder. "If you touch him, he'll die."
Maia placed two fingers to her temple. How is Jace here? That wasn't possible. Sebastian had-
"Maia?" Her head turned in the direction of her name and she locked eyes with the werewolf she once loved. In another life, she still might love him, but now she feels nothing at all.
He ran to her and hugged her tightly. Then pulled apart and kissed her. Right there. In front of everyone.
This was NOT part of the assignment.
