Summary: For Valentine's Day, Johnny takes you on a star-gazing dinner date
"Are you almost ready?" Johnny peaked around the corner into the bathroom, it was Valentine's day, 8 pm, and you knew hadn't forgotten, but you were getting suspicious if he actually had anything planned. He told you to get ready so you two could go to your favorite restaurant, nothing fancy, just simple. Just the way you liked it.
"You can't rush beauty," you said, smiling at him while putting in your earrings. He came up behind you placing his hands on your hips, admiring you in the mirror. He let his chin fall onto your shoulder.
"You're already way too beautiful," he smiled, and you lightly hit his shoulder. You admired the two of you in the mirror, Johnny hand clad with the ring you gave him, it was a simple signet ring for his pinky. He loved it, he hadn't taken it off since you gifted it to him this morning.
Johnny drove the usual route to the restaurant, parking in the usual spot. It was a small mom-and-pop Italian but you both swore they had the best Italian food in the entire state of .
"Will that be to stay or to-go?" the kind waitress asked.
"To st-" cut you off.
"No it'll be to-go," you shot him a puzzled look, but he simply sent it back, held out his arm for you to grab, and the both of you walked over to the waiting chairs. Resting your head on his shoulder you held his hand, admiring the ring you gave him. It really did suit him, you were proud of your choice.
you heard his name called and he stood collecting the bags of food. He opened the car door for you, driving in the opposite direction of home.
"Where are we going?" you asked, he shrugged, a smug little smirk on his face.
"I don't know," he turned onto a dirt road. This was getting fishy, you looked around, and the dark trees thickly surrounded the car. A sign came into view, ''.
", what's going on?" he shushed you, continuing down the rough road. He pulled off onto a pullout, shutting off the car. He pulled open the cover of the large sunroof. The stars were bright above you.
"Okay wait one second," he hurried out and around, pushing down the backseats, you watched in amusement as he pulled blankets and pillows from the trunk and made a bed.
"When did you have time to grab all that?" You giggled as he opened your door for you and practically shoved you into the back.
"When you were getting ready," he said in an obvious tone. He opened the bags, handing you your food. You dug in, it stayed quiet, the two of you grubbing, legs pushing against one another. The food seemed to be the best it had ever been, but maybe it was just the occasion.
The food was ate, put messily away and pushed into the front seat.
He laid back, resting his arms above his head. The stars were tempting you but you just wanted to look at . You couldn't believe he planned this, not that he wasn't amazing at planning things but he usually broke too early in the day out of excitement. Both of you were that way, surprises were hard to keep from the love of your life.
"What are you looking at?" He asked, you'd been staring intently down at him.
"Just the man that spoils me rotten," his hand reached out and grabbed you, pulling you into his chest. His fingers tracing miscellaneous objects onto your arm. You let your head fall on his chest, his chin resting on the top of your head, and your legs tangling. This was your favorite way to cuddle, your breaths were steady and the silence all around made for the most comforting ambience.
"Oh wait," his hand came into view above your face, interrupting the starry view, "this is for you."
His other hand brought a small Diamond necklace into your view. You shot up out of his arms
" this is too nice," you couldn't believe your eyes.
"Nothing too nice for my pretty girl," he unclasped it, notioning for you to turn and let him put it on.
you looked down at it on your neck. It was beautiful! He knew you so well, from you preference from dainty jewelry to quiet nights in.
"Just shut up and let me spoil you rotten," he said sternly but with a smile.
