Keira glared at him and headed straight for the wine.
"Is this all mine now?"
Sebastian narrowed his eyes and smiled.
"All of this is yours, little weed.."
Keira giggled, pouring herself the biggest goblet of wine she'd ever had in her young life.
"Cheers!"
Keira began chugging the contents of the goblet while Sebastian grabbed the cup from her before she was able to empty it into her stomach.
"What the hell?!" Keira snarled, "Why would you take it from me?"
Sebastian shook her head, "I'm not all that bad where you have to be inebriated to have fun with me or talk to me."
"I'm practically your prisoner, Sebastian," Keira rolled her eyes, "I'm doing this to save my property, my forest, and my people."
Sebastian placed the goblet on the bar and escorted Keira to the dining hall where a large buffet was set before them.
"Wow.." Keira hiccuped, "Is this all for us?"
It's ours, dandelion," Sebastian smiled, "Storm's brewing outside."
Keira nodded, "It's a big one, too."
She glared at Sebastian, "Don't even say it."
Sebastian chuckled as some servants sauntered into the room, one gasping as they set their sights on Keira.
"Your majesties!"
The woman bowed before them, practically throwing herself onto the marble floor.
"What?! No, get up! I'm not even a noblewoman!" Keira shook her head, waving her hand at the lady who looked frazzled and excited at the same time.
"It's alright, Clarice," Sebastian told the woman who was trembling now, standing next to her colleagues who were doing the same, "She's not a believer yet."
"Sh-she doesn't know?"
Keira turned to face Sebastian,"Might as well let me in on all of it. Why now? Why me? Why us? I don't have a say in who my mate is? I don't get to know my history? "
It was the wine talking, but it's what Keira was rightfully feeling. Sebastian motioned for all of the help to leave them alone as Sebastian escorted Keira to the table.
"How come you've known and I haven't?"
Sebastian pulled out a chair for her as Keira sat down, her face contorted in anger.
"There are many reasons, Keira, but why you've been kept in the dark was because your lineage wasn't created out of love."
Keira eyed him before taking a bite of the roll in front of her on the silver platter adorned with nuts, cheeses, meats, and fruits.
"Are you a liar, too? "
"Your great grandmother was part nymph.."
" Like hell she was! All of my relatives are witches and warlocks! I've got no nymph blood in me and most certainly don't have satyr!"
Keira stood up quickly, knocking the chair down when she did.
"It's one thing to drag me up here because you want to screw me, but another to lie about my family!"
Sebastian stood up, wiping his lips with his napkin. He watched Keira stumble to the other room. Perhaps a walk through the manor was what they both needed.
"As it is, I would never lie about something so heinous, " Sebastian swallowed hard,"I'm so sorry."
Keira couldn't wrap her head around it. How would he know and not tell her? How could her family know? Did her sisters know? Devonia?
"I know you probably have a lot of questions," Sebastian walked beside her as Keira tried to think of a witty comeback, "Just know that I have wanted to tell you since we were children. No one knew except for your great-grandparents and they hid it for your safety."
"My safety?"
"My ancestors were not on the good side of the first Undead War."
Keira turned to face him, the wine coursing through her veins as she tried to stand, "You're the enemy!"
"Hardly," Sebastian said, taking her arm and steadying her, "I'm not trying to take your land, but I know who is."
"You're a cool liar," Keira hiccuped, "We've seen your kind start fights. I was literally just fighting you not too long ago for territory in the Light Forest."
"I was fighting for territory in the Bright Lands, yes, but never your forest."
Keira glared at him before sighing, "I need proof of everything."
"The oracles didn't give you enough proof?′
"Who took advantage of my great-grandmother? Is he dead?"
Sebastian held her closer as he pulled them into one of the bedrooms.
"Yes, he's been dead for quite some time," Sebastian told her, "He was our king once."
"And now you are? Wouldn't that make you related?"
"No," Sebastian said, "There was a coup against his entire family years ago and I led it so I had the honor of killing the bastard."
"So you also killed off my entire family? Is that what you're telling me?"
"They weren't good satyrs, my little dandelion. I would never place harm against you or those you love. We were living in chaos with no real leadership. No one recognizes us as royalty because of the Moon dynasty."
"Augustus and Esther would recognize you."
"I've tried," Sebastian said, "They still think we're rogues."
"That's why you need me, isn't it?" Keira narrowed her eyes, "You need me to change their minds."
Sebastian smiled, "You're a clever little weed, my queen, clever little weed indeed."
