Sebastian smiled as he watched her, watching him and the reaction she was getting simply by touching her mate.
"I'm not sure I'll be able to walk out of here if you keep doing that.."
Keira smiled, "That's the plan."
"We'll get out of here soon," he whispered, "I might have to have you walk in front of me."
Keira laughed as she took her hand from her mate's crotch.
"So very soon."
They were congratulated again for their pregnancy, marriage and now Keira's coronation.
She spoke with Deloris and Sebastian talked with Dante about all that needed to be done while they were away.
"Going to the Dark Realm has to be the most insane thing I've ever heard!" Dante boasted, "I can't believe Esther would even think of such a thing!"
"It's our last option," Sebastian said,"I don't want to sit by any longer and watch my wife and son die."
"And I don't want to watch my husband die," Keira croaked, as she heard Vera slink up behind them, "I want Josette to take Vera if something happens to me."
Josette overheard the conversation and smiled, "I'd be honored to take her in. She's family now."
"Well, I'm getting ready to go up to bed, " Keira said, standing, but not realizing that her actions forced the lot of people to do the same and then bow.
Keira blushed, not sure of how to react, by Sebastian stood beside her and waved to the crowd.
"Thank you all for sharing this precious moment with us and please continue with the celebration! I'm sure being pregnant with our little prince is exhausting."
He winked at Keira who allowed his Sebastian to escort her back into the manor and up to their room.
Vera followed, slipping into her own bedroom down the hall.
"I teased you out there," Keira yawned, "I don't know what has come over me."
"We will sleep, my dandelion," Sebastian helped his wife out of her garments and into a nightgown, "Do not hesitate to slap me away in the middle of the night when I try to test these waters."
Keira blushed, knowing he meant her core.
"Oh, I don't think I could turn you down, husband," she said, crawling into their bed with him and cuddling, "Not when you make me feel so good."
Sebastian smiled and held her close as they both fell asleep with the soft sounds of the celebration going on outside.
It wasn't a peaceful slumber, though.
Every now and then, Keira would awaken to find herself scared and riddled with uncertainty. Her dreams were awful, brutal even. She dreamt of war and death, bloodshed and tears.
The wrath of every enemy she or Sebastian ever had raining down upon them and their baby.
Sebastian's dreams weren't much better. He woke up calling her name
more than once with Keira soothing the big satyr back to sleep.
What would befall them, they did not know, but contacting the boss and oracles didn't seem to make a difference.
"Have you heard many stories of the Dark Realm?" Keira asked once they both knew that slept wasn't the option at the moment.
Sebastian sighed, "I know it's not a good place and we could be trapped there. I also know that Esther is actually debating on whether or not to involve her children, but I don't like it."
Keira agreed, but Esther and Augustus were two of the most powerful beings, if not THE most powerful beings, in all of the Shadow Realm. Their children were even more so.
"We've got to survive this, Sebastian. I don't blame you for anything. I know that's been weighing on your mind. I'm your mate and this is how it should be, us getting through this together."
Sebastian kissed her forehead, "I truly didn't know this would affect you or Emmett. I never would have.."
Keira nodded, "I know you wouldn't have put it in danger like this, but what's done is done and now we have to make it through the Dark Realm. "
It took a little time, but the two drifted off back to sleep with better thoughts, thoughts of their son and a future where the curse was broken.
Sebastian woke up first and watched Keira sleep. Even though she was one of the loudest, feistier witches, her soul was kind and gentle. He'd no clue what he'd done to be so blessed to have her, but he'd fight tooth and nail for his wife.
"Gods, I love you, Keira.." he whispered, stroking her cheek gently, "I just want to make this right."
She smiled in her sleep, curling up into a tighter ball next to her mate.
Morning came too soon and with it the next round of ideas, potions, and negotiations.
"I'm still not sure why we don't just take out the hags," Kane said, "You mean to tell me there isn't one who is willing to give up their fellow sister? Come on! They love backstabbing."
Devonia agreed, but knew that this time around there wasn't anyone who knew the particular hag.
"I don't even know where she came from!" Sebastian threw his hands up in defeat,"We were hunting one day and the next week or so I was accosted by her. It was near Dove's Landing."
"The dragon town?" Esther frowned, "Isn't that where Ruth is headed?"
"Yeah, but the hag wouldn't have lived there," Augustus thought about it,"Unless she was trying to hide from something else."
Keira thought about Ruth and Dane and if the dragon prince was being kind to her. She knew if Ruth had discovered anything that her friend would send word.
She'd no idea what Dane had in store for Ruth or what the future held, but the Dark Realm called to them and they had to act quickly.
Or risk losing it all.
