"More fucking potions!"

Sebastian slammed his fists on the table, causing Josette to jump. Kane snarled behind her, looming over the tiny witch as he eyed the satyr.

"Calm the fuck down, or I'll give you more than these potions."

Keira sighed and took another sip of hers, but all she got was a headache.

"Here's a healing elixir," Frances pushed a bottle forward, cautiously as she glanced at Sebastian who shook his head.

"Don't mind me, Frances. I'm sorry."

Emmanuel, the incubi, stood nearby, glaring at Sebastian who took notice.

"Yeah, I know. I said I'm sorry. I'm just.. I can't stand knowing this could be the fate of my mate!"

"We're aware of that and we've all been there," Augustus reminded him, "Give it a chance."

"I am, we are!" Sebastian groaned as he downed another vial then passing out.

Keira shrugged,"That must have been some potent sleep elixir. He's a big guy."

"The orcs have gone out to see if the hags are willing to negotiate,"

Kane sighed, "Sending orcs to do our bidding?"

Esther nodded,"Considering that Keira healed the leader's daughter, they're willing to do anything."

"We're going to have to do what we can at this point. Anything really..." Esther said,"I'll get with Devonia as soon as possible."

Keira trembled. She'd been in battle before, but this was different. This was her baby and her mate she had to fight for.

"We take Vera. I know she'll be a great help to us," Keira smiled down at her familiar, who'd gone to sleep at her feet.

"When will we go?"

Sebastian looked up to see Esther bringing in her son Ambrose and Augustus holding the twins Veronica and Victoria while Devonia carried in little Isaac.

"We'll be leaving shortly," Esther said, "Two days, tops. We must be prepared for going into the Dark Realm and have a plan to get out."

"Who the hell preps for that?" Sebastian growled,"And if we do find the hag, what is she going to do? She'll have nothing to lose, obviously."

"You really think she'll fall for it? Bargaining for Emmett?" Keira whispered.

Esther sighed, "As much as I don't want her to, we need her to."

"Are you getting ready to go?" Esther asked her sister as Ambrose crawled into Keira's lap.

Keira loved children and could feel the bond between Esther and her children just as she felt the connection with Emmett.

"We'll get out .. we'll get out," Esther tried to perform her manifestations, "We'll be alright, Keira. We'll be alright."

Sebastian and Augustus gathered supplies and weapons. They didn't know exactly what they'd need in the Dark Realm, but they weren't going to leave anything behind.

"Don't let your wife out of your sight," Augustus warned,"Deceit, lies, hell... That's what the Dark Realm is, Sebastian. It will cause you to see things not there, hear things that aren't there, and possibly become irrational and aggravated."

Sebastian knew the stories and he'd read up on the lore, but it wasn't enough to prepare himself for what they needed to do.

"The last thing to do is to see if perhaps the hags around here want to deal. We can try again if you wish?" Augustus asked as Sebastian scowled at him, "I am not speaking as your friend or a king to a king. I'm speaking as a husband and father. It's all up to you and your mate."

"And what would you do in my position?"

Augustus leaned up against the wall and sighed, "I wouldn't have waited, Sebastian. The longer you waited for her, the worse this got. Now look at you."

Sebastian growled,"Don't make me feel worse than I already do. I'm sorry that I waited, I wanted her to be ready. I didn't know when to do it. When I felt my energy slipping away, I knew it was then that I had to act. I just wanted her to love me."

"She will."

Esther watched her sister play with the children. It made her happy that Keira was going to be a mother, regardless of the consequences.

"Do you see anything?"

Esther pressed her lips together. She didn't want to lie to Keira, but she wanted her friend to be cautious and knowing.

"I see... strife..." Esther hummed,"I see sorrow, but I don't see you, Keira. I see Sebastian... I see Emmett. You know I've been wrong before."

Sebastian hurried into the room with Augustus at his heels.

"What do you mean? Where do you see us?"

Esther grabbed Ambrose and cuddled him while Keira handed the girls to Augustus.

"I don't know. It's a dark place, below.. it's guarded, but it's lonely..."

"Are you telling me you don't see my mate in the future?"

"Keira wouldn't be in the Dark Realm, Sebastian, but you and Emmett might be."

Keira suddenly realized what Esther meant. Sebastian was willing to sacrifice himself for their child.

"Don't you dare!" Keira flung herself at Sebastian,"I can't lose both of you!"

Sebastian understood. It only indicated to him that something awful was going to happen in the Dark Realm.

Perhaps Keira was better off staying?

"What if I give myself to her? She could break the curse and free you and Emmett from it?"

Esther shook her head, "As tempting as that might be, the hag will want the child for a life force in the Realm. You would simply be a toy for her needs."

Augustus stood in the doorway now with a solemn expression.

"Then it's settled. We leave for the Dark Realm at dawn."
