Carmin had always had this fear deep in the back of her mind, the fear of hurting someone. She didn't care about half of her ex boyfriends, they had all shown they were jerks in the end, anyways. They deserved that feeling of getting dropped by Carmin.

She had a fear of the real hurt.

Of friendships ending. Fighting verbally or physically. She was always fearful of breaking people's trust.

And the whole time Carmin was in Mexico, which to be fair had only been a day, she hadn't called Robby. She'd updated Faith, her sister and Tod, who told her mom, Kenny, Tory. But she hadn't worked the courage to call Robby.

Scared she'd already hurt him enough. Scared that he was going to call it quits because by now everyone in that circle of friends knew where Carmin was. And who she was with.

Robby didn't really hate Miguel, but still, it could have felt like a betrayal when Carmin took off after arguing with Robby. She'd hurt him. She knew that but she didn't know how to make amends, or if there was a way too.

Not knowing that Robby had only agreed to keep looking for Miguel because he knew finding Miguel meant finding her. And he had a lot of things he wanted to say to her that he hadn't said before.

But still that following morning, Carmin and Miguel made their way downstairs, leaving the upstairs bedroom where they had slept. Staying together in the same room, mostly rambling about how they were feeling. They'd had a great night, eating dinner with the family, who'd welcomed them in like family. Maria had shown Carmin her jewelry collection and given her a gold ring.

And still, Carmin made no move to open her phone to call Robby. Not sure what she could say. And what he would say in return.

"Hey!" Hector cheered, seeing the duo make their way downstairs, he stood by the kitchen stove. "There they are! You both must have been wiped out, right?"

"Yeah." Carmin laughed while Miguel put his hands up, "Yeah, a little bit. What are you- what are you making?" Miguel questioned as the duo looked over at the pan on the stove, "Ah, we're making my famous churrasco."

"Ah, churrasco, okay." Carmin had no idea what that was but she was excited to try, "Yeah. Get in there, Miguel. Let me see those quick reflexes." Carmin moved over so that Miguel could cut the vegetables, "You're gonna tell me where you learned to move like that."

Hector teased the boy, Carmin smiled slightly, she felt like an intruder. This was Miguel's time and she felt like she was getting in the way of that. "Okay, uh, well, I- Vi and I studied martial arts. I won a championship back home."

"A champion in California. Wow! I'm surprised he never heard of you, y tu, Viola." Hector sent her a cheeky wink, seeing her quiet, "Uh, well, you might have.. Uh, it's kinda why I'm here, why we're here."
