✨Chapter 41 - above a blinding star

Tree P.O.V:

"Thanks Pen! I owe you one," I smile. Pen chuckles on the other end of the line.

"No problem! Have fun on your daattteee!~" He snickers, I roll my eyes. "Okay now you're pushing it. See you soon dude."

"See ya!"

I disconnect the call and place my phone in my pocket. Sighing, I stretch slightly. This is our first official date...it'll be fine...

"You'll be fine Tree..." I whisper to myself, stepping out of the bathroom. I think I'm ready...probably.

"Tree!" CJ exclaims, running up to me. "Oh! Hey CJ. Do you need anything...?" I ask, leaning down near them. They nod "Where are you going? I feel like you guys are leaving me..." They mumble, squinting at me slightly. I laugh, ruffling their hair.

"Me and Black Hole are just going on a little outing together." I explain, patting their back as I stand up again.

"Aw! Why can't I come?" They ask, following me into the living room. "This sort of just a me and your dad thing." I smile, sitting on the couch. "Pen should be coming over soon to watch over you."

They beam, "Okay!"

Rolling my eyes, I pull out my phone again to see a message from Pen.

Pen XmX: im outside ur house >:)

Tree: That would be more freighting if I wasn't expecting you.

I sigh, shaking my head. Cherry Jr. turns to look, "What?"

I smile, "Nothing, just Pen. He's outside." I explain. He gets up and stares out the window. "Well why's he just sitting there on your lawn?" They ask, I turn to look as well. "...I have no clue-"

"...What are you guys talking about?"

I turn around, hearing Black Hole's voice. "Oh nothing it's just Pen-"

OH MY GOD.

"Uh-...Tree? You okay?"

WHY ARE THEY SO CUTE.

Third Person P.O.V:

Cherry Jr. waves their hand in front of Tree's face a bit. "Uh...Dad? You up?"

Tree continues to sit with a shocked expression on his face. In turn, Black Hole starts to visibly freak out.

"TREE? You okay? I'm sorry..." They say, shaking Tree a bit. Tree sort of snaps out of his trance, still sort of dazed and confused. "Wha?- Wh-"

"What did I walk in on?"

The three turn their heads to see Pen standing in the door way. Tree, very confused and still a bit dizzy, looks at him weird. "How'd you get in? I'm so confused..." He mutters, holding his head.

"You keep your spare keys in that one bush in the fake leaf." Pen smirks, setting his bag down. Tree eyes him suspiciously, "Who told you that...?"

Pen shrugs, rolling his eyes. "Pillow."

"Eh, figures." Tree sighs. Black Hole pats Tree on the back, "You okay sweetie?"

"Woah! Nice new sweater Black Hole!" Pen compliments, observing the new space pattern. They blush, "Th-thanks Pen..."

"I'm glad you like it, I bought it for you a while ago." Tree chuckles, kissing them softly. Pen quickly goes to cover CJ's eyes. "HEY!" They yell, squirming around.
