✨Chapter 56 - we were afraid to miss the start. what did it matter?

Tree P.O.V:

I roll over into Black Hole's arms. Sighing slightly against their chest, I smile.

Pulling out my phone, I decide to just look through photos. Why not? It's early, probably, so why not just have some down time.

Some stupid pictures of Pen and Cherry Jr...Remote's pet hamster...Lots of ones of Black Hole...well of course.

I smile at stupid photos at all of us hanging out.

And...Black Hole of course. I have fallen so hard for this guy it's kind of embarrassing...

I feel Black Hole move a bit, wrapping their arms and tail around me. I chuckle, kissing their cheek. Shifting a bit, they slowly open their eyes.

"T-Tree?" They yawn, resting their head on mine. I smile, kissing them again. "Good morning."

They sit up slowly, bringing me up with them. "Good morning..." They sigh, blinking slowly as they stretch.

I smile, kissing them gently. They sigh, kissing back softly. I smile, leaning my head on their chest. "I love you..." I sigh, rubbing circles into their back.

They smile back weakly, "I love you too..."

We sit in silence, just listening to the rain slowly begin to tap at the windows. The sky growing gray and gloomy as the small droplets of water pour from above. The occasional yawn from Black Hole snaps me out of my trance for a few moments.

"When are we going to get Jr...?" They ask, rubbing their eyes. I shrug, "Eventually, I'll text Basketball when we need to get there."

They nod, lifting me in their arms as they hop out of bed. I laugh, trying to get out of their grasp.

"Hey! Not cool babe!" I chuckle, as they set me down. "Sorry." They snicker, kissing my forehead as we head downstairs.

"You're fine, I love you to much to be mad at you for more than a minute." I smile, kissing their cheek. They blush, "Th-thanks...love you too."

I make some coffee for the both of us as we chat, random things really. Shows, music, books. Anything that comes to mind, I don't know. This chats are always one of the best parts of my day, maybe just spending time with them is enough to keep my little brain filled with dopamine. Who knows.

"Should we get Jr. now? It's 10:38." He asks, I nod, smiling at them. "Yeah, sure why not."

Basketball P.O.V:

"Grassy eat your pancakes! They're getting cold." I scold playfully, handing CJ his plate. "Okay! Grassy will eat now!" He smiles, shoveling some of his food in his mouth. Robot Flower hands Rocky some applesauce as she tries to calm down the Jrs.

"Okay guys, c'mon, eat up." I sigh, setting down the rest of the food. The kids eat like they've been starved for the past week.

"Not that fast...you might choke." I say, placing a hand on Cherry Jr.'s shoulder. They flinch, looking at me with worry. I'm...confused.

"You okay bud?" I ask, worried about his well-being. "Y-Yeah, you just scared me..."

Weird...was this...something Tree and Black Hole were doing? No! That's stupid why would they do that?

My question was soon answered, "Uhm...just back at the orphanage...you know? The kids and people there weren't the...nicest? I guess."

I give a small nod of understanding, "It's nothing to do with your parents right?"
