In the Amazon fortress, Ares welcomed himself into their main training room just in time to watch Angie being thrown across the floor. She laid on the ground, staring at the ceiling as she fought to get her breath back.

"Again?" An Amazon he'd never seen before asked.

Angie placed a hand on her stomach and groaned. "Think I'm going to need a minute."

The Amazon chuckled and offered her a hand, pulling her up. Dripping buckets of sweat, Angie grabbed a bottle of water and sat down. As the only person in the room Ares recognised, he waded his way over.

The Amazons were starting to get used to seeing him around their home. At this point, none of them paid him any mind. Though as he approached, Angie still wasn't too happy about being in his company.

"Looks like you're having fun."

He'd never seen a person drink so fast. The water glugged down her sweaty chin.

"I'm getting my ass handed to me," She complained. "Only reason I haven't given up is because I want to do the Angelina window dive one day."

"The what?"

"You wouldn't understand. No one here does."

"Do you know where I can find the redhead?"

As ever, he found himself hunting her down.

"I've not seen Kyra today. She usually pokes her head in. I haven't seen Fallon either. Thank God. There's only so many times my ass can hit the ground in one day."

"I still haven't met her."

But he knew of her importance to Kyra.

"Then you're lucky." Another deep glug of water. "You could check her office."

Unless she was off world, the office was probably his best bet.

"Good luck with the Evangeline window dive."

"Angelina, moron."

"That's what I said."

He made his way to her office except that was empty too. But her scent was still fresh. She wasn't far away. In fact, he'd probably missed her by minutes. Eager, he followed the Godly energy until he found her in an armoury of sorts, hand clutching a portal jumper.

"Going somewhere?"

She didn't look surprised to see him. But she was busy, scouring the shelves with purpose.

"I have a meeting to get to," She told him flippantly. "You're going to have to wait if you want a chat—but my office is open."

"Where are you headed to in such a rush?"

"Veneficus."

Horrible place. In his long life, he'd only ever been a handful of times. The sun in that land was unbearable.

"Have you forgotten about our deal?"

"No, and that's why I'm going to Veneficus. I have a meeting with Annaliese."

"How is Annaliese going to help with Nadine?"

"She's not."

"Mad Amazon. You make no sense."

"Like I said, the door to my office is open. I'll be back in about an hour."

His head shook in disagreement. "I'm coming with you."

"There's no convincing you otherwise, is there?"

"No. There's not."

"Okay. But don't embarrass me. This is important."
