Kate looked very harassed as she entered Studio A that morning. "What's up with her?" Emily muttered to Orla, who shrugged.

"Alright, everyone gather round for a second, please," said Kate. She heaved a sigh and continued. "I have some bad news, unfortunately.  Michelle has left The Next Step."

Orla gasped, her eyes going as wide as saucers.

"What?!"

"She left?"

"No..."

"Which means that we only have ten dancers left on our Nationals team," Kate went on.

"Having only ten dancers is bad because if we have one dancer that gets injured or can't dance, then we can't dance at Nationals," said Riley.

"So, we're not in the best position," Orla finished.

"Can you believe Michelle left? She just literally left TNS!" Orla exclaimed to Emily at a table in a corner of Culture Shock. "Right before Nationals-!"

"Orla," Emily said in a hiss. "We have bigger things to worry about, okay?"

"What? What could possibly be bigger than Michelle leaving the studio-?"

Emily sighed, leaning forwards. "Amanda's a double agent. She's still at Elite. She's only at The Next Step to take it down from the inside! I mean, I'm not one to say I told you so, but we told everyone!"

"I knew it," Orla muttered, absolutely shocked. "I just can't believe she has the brain capacity to pull that off."

"Um, hello! Orla! We need to come up with a plan?" Emily raised her eyebrows. "What should we do?"

"Right, well, the first thing to do is to make sure everything is okay," Orla shrugged.

"Why?" Emily enquired.

"Because Amanda's coming over here right now!" Orla hissed.

Emily shrugged. "And then he just, laughed..." she trailed off on her attempt at making a story up as she and Orla fake laughed pathetically.

Amanda frowned at the two of them. "Um, guys, uh, Miss Kate needs you two in Studio A."

"Okay, yeah-"

"Totally-"

"Of course-"

"Yeah, yeah-"

"No-"

After a lot of sitting down, standing up and random babbling, Emily and Orla were on their way.

Orla sighed. "I don't know what we're gonna do, but we have to do something."

"Right, so I know it's a hard time, but we need to decide who the third member of the small group is going to be," Kate announced to the team.

The small group was originally Thalia, Giselle and Michelle, but obviously, it was now just a duet. And Giselle and Thalia already had one of those.
