"Maybe life should be about more than just surviving"
- Clarke Griffin from The 100
If only the sun and moon could be up together at the same time in the broad sky——The sun shines warmth to every living thing, keeping the comfort for those who need it. The sun gives into the daylight, but as the day starts to end as it always does, dark is what follows. The sun calls goodnight and starts to set. The moon rises then, after the sun has started to call its goodbye. The moon lives in the dark, while many don't see much for the moon, it is just as important as the sun. The moon uses its light to shine a way in the dark, for those who cannot see a path. The moon and sun cross over each other, switching spots for daylight and night. But never a word had they said to each other. So different, the sun and moon. One is so well known, the other lives in darkness. But what if they are just so different enough that they are meant to be together? If only they were ever given the chance to talk to each other.
"And if only then the sun and moon would be together at the same time, side by "
"What are you saying, Kenna? Come on, join us in the game!" Her best friend's head pops in the ball of blankets Kenna had covered herself in. Her deep blue eyes sparkled mischievously under her caramel cut off bangs. The tips of her bangs so close to her eyes made her blue eyes pop out.
"Is it that bloody game again? I'm so sick of it, just let me write." Kenna ducks her head back into her writing and urges her friend to get out.
"No it's not, I swear this one is fun! It's new too! C'mon, you'll like it!" She keeps her head stuffed in the blanket, waiting for an answer.
"Ugh, this better be fast. And if this isn't fun, it's on you, Lina." She finally gets out of the ball of blankets, and what seemed like a little tent to Kenna has fallen to just rolls of blankets. "And you're helping me build that tent up again, I spent a whole ten minutes on that."
"Fine, fine, fine. Sorry for wasting your precious time, boss." Her friend said teasingly, leaving the two of them to soft giggles.
They walked out of the bunkbeds and out into the more open space, the floors covered in white carpet. Just like the whole room, only the color white.
"Ah, Jeez. You finally got her out of that bed, Lina. How'd you do it?" One girl out of the five asked, all of them sat in a circle with a deck of cards in the center of them.
"That's gonna be a secret I'll never tell you." Lina laughs off, as the rest of the girls makes space for the two of them.
"Now, what is this?" Kenna sits down and examines the deck of cards.
"Ms. Casta gave it to us. You were in that hell bed for too long!" Someone jokes.
"Oh, shut up, Dixie. I'm only there because the rest of you are too annoying."
"Yeah right, I don't even get what you can do in a bed with blankets stacked all over your head. How do you even breathe in there?"
"Just ignore them, Kenna. These are called cards." Lina holds one up. "It's a game people used to play back then, but the city was able to use evidences of it to recreate it. So these are fresh new."
