Just wanted to share this moment:
I find myself here at SM Cebu Jollibee for a dine-in experience. Opted to eat here instead of enduring the heavy traffic in Colon. I had to navigate through the congestion, taking three jeepney rides from Gaisano South to Carbon, then Gaisano South to Colon, and finally, Gaisano South to USJR. Imagine leaving work at 4:30 and reaching SM Cebu by 6:15, facing heavy traffic and exhaustion. Despite the fatigue, I felt the need to treat myself.
However, there's an interesting twist to this story. Upon reaching the counter to pay for my order, a girl crew member with a broad smile caught my attention. I inquired if they accept card payments, and she happily confirmed. Moments later, she exclaimed, "Pres!" I was taken aback as she recognized me. In disbelief, I greeted her, "Hi!" Glancing at her name tag, I discovered her name was Daisy. As she punched in my order on the monitor, she mentioned, "Pres, right? From ABANTE Party?" I was astonished that she knew my affiliation with the SSG's Abante Party. Another crew member, also a girl, joined in and recognized me, shouting, "Pres!" It was overwhelming. Haha. I found myself alone in Jollibee, wondering who would join me. Haha, just kidding.
However, my joy was tempered when I asked Daisy if she was from CTU (Cebu Technological University). Her response was disheartening, "I stopped from schooling, sir; I decided not continue." Her voice revealed a hint of sadness as she shared her situation.
Wanting to learn more, I tried to inquire about the reason, but instead of waiting for her response, I chose to offer encouragement, "Go back to school; there are scholarships such as TES!" I sincerely hope she returns to school and secures a scholarship, pursuing her dreams and desired career. I salute her; although I don't know her full story, I wish I could assist her. Her smile is remarkable. It's fascinating how encountering a Jollibee crew member with a contagious smile, even behind a mask, can be a stress-reliever.
