Jaime crosses a line and Tywin is not happy. Robb Stark gets a surprise. I hope you guys like it. 🥰

3 days later.

"Will I be a good king?" Serena's needle stopped and she looked up at Tommen, the boy giving her an expectant look.

"Do you think you will be a good king?"

"I do not know." He shrugged and took another lemon cake from the tray. "My father was a great warrior, he even defeated Prince Rhaegar in battle, but people say he was not a good king. Then, there was Joffrey, who was mean and cruel and people hated him. I do not want to be like him or like my father."

"Do you know what made your father and Joffrey bad kings?" The boy shook his head. "They were selfish and worried about no one but themselves. A good king must care for his people and their wellbeing." She set her embroidery aside and gave Tommen all her attention. "Your father only wanted things that brought him pleasure, he did not attend council meetings and did not care about the trouble of his people. Your brother was similar, only caring about what brought him pleasure, and was cruel to the ones who needed his help."

"How do I know I will not be the same?"

"A good king needs to be strong, smart, and brave." She cupped the side of his face. "But a great king knows that he gets his strength from his people, listens to council, and surrounds himself with wise men who can advise him."

Tommen stared at her for a moment, seeming to think about her words, before nodding. "I want to be a great king."

"Then, you shall be."

Tommen was a sweet child, gentle and of good heart. Serena was afraid that his good heart would be abused by his mother or if the Tyrells were able to get a hold of him. For now, Tywin was protecting him and had made sure to keep the Tyrells away. They had actually been sent back to Highgarden. Olenna had tried to protest, but Tywin made it clear there was nothing left for them in Kings Landing. Joffrey was dead and Margaery was not an appropriate wife for Tommen. The woman had been furious, but in the end, she did not have a choice and ended up leaving, taking the rest of her family with her. Serena was not stupid enough to believe it was the last time they would be hearing from them.

Cersei had been locked in her chambers and would only let Jaime in every once in a while. Tywin had been furious and gotten into a very heated argument with Jaime. While all of this was happening Sansa and Myrcella kept to themselves, enjoying each other's companies, their books, and embroidery. While poor Tommen had been abandoned by almost everyone. Serena had found him in the halls the day after Joffrey's funeral and he had spent every day after that with her in her chambers. Sometimes he would bring toys, other times he would bring his cat and he enjoyed it when she read to him the most.

The doors to her chambers opened and Jaime walked in, looked between her and Tommen, and frowned. The little boy jumped off his chair and ran to his uncle, wrapping his arms around his waist.

"Uncle Jaime." Tommen took a step back. "Have you come to play?"

"I afraid not, your grace." His smile was gentle as he ruffled the boy's curls. "I am here to speak to your grandsire."

"Tommen." Serena stood up and walked to the boy, running a hand over his upper back. "Why don't you go to Sansa's chambers, she is there with your sister, and tell them that the midday meal will be ready in thirty minutes and I expect them to be punctual."

The boy nodded quickly, eager to have a task before running out of the room and leaving her alone with Jaime.

"I am sorry, Ser Jaime." She was painfully aware that the man did not like her. "My husband is not here."
