A few more snippets about the long night. Arya makes a choice to protect her family. I hope you guys like it 🥰

Jaime had not felt cold like this ever before, he felt like he would be frozen solid for the rest of his life. He could not feel his face, and his hands felt like they were frozen solid. Jaime had never been a very optimistic person, especially after everything that had happened in his life and now it was not very different. He had come to Winterfell knowing that there was a large chance that he would die, but he was fine with those odds. He had so much to make up for and he wanted to help people. For years he had been so wrapped up in Cersei that he had forgotten the reason why he wanted to be a knight, the reason he wanted to be a hero. Now was his chance to redeem himself, to prove to himself that he could be someone good, that he could do good.

He saw the dragons light up the trenches and saw the arches shoot every arrow they had towards the dead. Then the giants came, tearing down part of the wall and killing several men from the reach. Jaime was filled with horror when the dead animals made it past the walls. It was a very unsettling sight, and he felt fear like never before. Then he saw the dead dragon almost take out Jon before crashing into the black dragon, making him fall from the sky.

The dead came quickly, their force was almost overwhelming as they ran towards them.

"Do not approach." His men stood still, their swords at the ready. "Wait for it."

The dead continued to run towards them as they stood still, just waiting. There was no need for them to exhaust themselves. Then the dead were on top of them.

"NOW!"

They all moved as one and Jaime had to fight to keep his mind on the fight and not think about how many of his men were dying. Jaime slammed his dragon glass spear into one of the dead soldier's chest, kicking another one as he attempted to grab him.

Jaime and his men were backed closer to one of the walls before part of the wall exploded and sent him flying through the air.

Daenerys groaned before shaking her head and looking around. She sat up and touched the back of her head.

"We need to move." Jon helped her stand up. "If we stay here we will die."

Daenerys nodded her head and moved quickly, following after him. They made it past the wall, Jon killing some of the dead as they ran along. He needed to get Daenerys somewhere safe. He was moving towards the Vale knights, sure that one of them would be able to get her to the great hall. He was almost to the men when a giant slammed through the side of the wall, the hit sending him flying a few feet through the air. It took him a few minutes before he could even move.

"JON!" John Royce was on his face. "Come on,"

The man almost dragged him in the opposite direction of where he had last seen Daenerys. Jon was not sure what was happening, but he was a bit confused and could not think clearly. There was blood running down his face and he knew he had hit his head. By the time he could think clearly they were in the Godswood.

"Where is Daenerys?" His voice sounded a bit confused, but he fought past it. "She was with me."

"She is fighting with my men." John was giving him a questioning look. "You need to get to Robb and Brann, your brothers need you."

Jon nodded his head, knowing that the older man was right. If they were not able to kill the night king then all of this would have been for nothing. He could not worry about Daenerys now, he needed to make sure they would all survive this.

Arya moved quickly, making her way through the dead. She was not happy to do this but knew that there was no other choice. This would be the only way her family would live. She had seen the same thing Sansa had and knew that there was no other way. She made it to a part of the Godswood where the dead had not gotten yet. She had seen one of the Vale knights run with the dragon queen to that area. She knew the man would not stay, his only job was to get the woman to a safer location.

She found the woman still with the knight and hid behind one of the trees. The man would be coming this way sooner or later. It was not too long before the man moved closer to where Arya was. She pressed her back closer to the tree trunk as the man moved past her before slamming the hilt of the knife on the back of his head. He dropped face-first onto the ground and Arya observed him for a moment before moving around the tree until she was standing in front of the dragon queen.

"What are you doing?" Daenerys gave her a suspicious look. "Should you not be fighting?"

"Yes, I should." Arya's voice was calm. "But there is something important I must do first."

"Is that why you have a knife in your hand?" She could see Daenerys was suspicious.

"I have watched you since the moment you arrived." Arya moved a bit closer. "I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt, for Jon's sake. I knew he would be unhappy if you were to die, but I also saw the way your heart filled with hate and jealousy. I also saw the way your eyes filled with madness."

"People have been betraying me since the moment I was born." Daenerys's eyes had that bit of madness in them now. "I cannot trust anyone, because, in the end, everyone will betray me. I have no other choice but to conquer the seven kingdoms and take back what belongs to my family."

"Even if the cost for that is thousands of lives?" She was truly hoping the woman would say no.

"It does not matter how many lives I have to take," The woman glared at her. "The iron throne belongs to me."

Arya stood in front of Daenerys and gave the other woman a small nod. She had hoped the woman's answer would be different.

"I am sorry." Daenerys frowned, but before she could react Arya had buried the Valyrian steel dagger in the queen's chest. The woman's eyes became wide as blood ran down the corner of her mouth. "It is better that I do this, I can carry the burden."

She had known that if Jon had been forced to kill the woman he would never be able to forgive himself. Arya, however, had no issues doing whatever was needed to protect her family. She yanked the dagger out and watched as the woman fell and took her last breath. The dragon queen was dead and now she had to make sure her family would survive.
