THIRTEEN

CHAPTER THIRTEEN : LEVERAGE

A COUPLE HOURS LATER, THE GROUPS REACHED RIGA.

Once they arrived, Maggie, Bucky, Sam, and Zemo made their way through the city on foot. Of course, Zemo had to ruin the walk by mentioning Sokovia.

"I heard what became of Sokovia. Cannibalize by its neighbors before the land was cleared of rubble, erased from the map. I don't suppose any of you bothered visiting the memorial?"

Nobody responded.

"Of course not. Why would you," Zemo continued before informing them. "We are here."

Maggie suddenly stopped walking, making Bucky immediately notice. Ever since they arrived in Rgia, Maggie sensed that they were being watched. She figured out she was right, feeling a presence close by lurking in the shadows.

What's wrong? Bucky asked her telepathically.

We're being watched, Maggie answered.

"Maggie and I are going for a walk," Bucky told Sam and Zemo.

"You two good?" Sam asked.

"Yeah, we'll see you guys in a bit," Maggie answered.

As Sam and Zemo went inside, Bucky and Maggie exchanged glances.

"You hear that?" Bucky asked her.

"Yeah," she immediately answered.

The couple looked down at the ground to see a small device beeping. Maggie picked it up to look at it.

"There might be more," she said.

They walked around, finding another device on the side of the building. Before they knew it, the couple entered into an alley together.

"You dropped something," Bucky said.

Maggie then felt a familiar presence.

"We were both wondering when you were gonna show up," Maggie said before they turned to be met by a Wakandan woman.

Ayo.

"Ndilapha ngeZemo."
(Translation: "I'm here for Zemo")

Luckily, Bucky and Maggie were able to buy some time from Ayo. They walked together back to Zemo's apartment, making sure they weren't followed. As soon as they knew, they slowed down their pace until the reached the apartment.

"Well, the Wakandans are here," Bucky said as him and Maggie walked into the living room, removing their jackets. "They're here for Zemo. Bought us some more time."

"Were you followed?" Sam asked just as Maggie sat down on the couch.

"No," Maggie answered.

"How can you be so sure?"

"Both of know when we're being followed. Comes with the powers and paranoia installed in us from Hydra."

"It was sweet of you to defend me at least," Zemo's said, slightly amused.
