CHAPTER SOX: THE SOUL-GAZING EXERCISE

TWO HOURS LATER

Maggie had been sitting for two hours.

The sun had already gone down as she and Sam waited in the police office lobby. She had been worrying since those officers arrested Bucky. He missed his court-mandated therapy with Dr Raynor. Maggie had been so caught up in the Flag Smasher and arguing with Walker to even remember her husband had a therapy session. She had only meet Dr Raynor a few times, and in those few times, Maggie grew a large dislike for her, and the doctor knew it. Raynor sometimes didn't treat Bucky like she should've in their sessions, and Maggie wasn't okay with that at all.

When Dr Raynor walked into the lobby, Maggie tried her best not to give the woman and ugly look. Sam could tell tell she was trying her best to act polite as they stood up to greet the shrink.

"Mrs Barnes, lovely to see you again," Dr Raynor greeted as they shook hands.

"Doc," Maggie greeted shortly.

"Sam, I've heard a lot about you," she moved onto greeting Sam. "I'm Dr Raynor. I'm James's therapist."

"So nice to meet you," Sam said, shaking her hand.

"I guess I should thank you for getting him out," Maggie said, giving a soft sigh.

"That was not me," Dr Raynor replied.

"Christina!"

Was what someone shouted from the entrance. Sam and Maggie looked to their right and saw Walker waving at them. Maggie instantly rolled her eyes as she deeply sighed.

"Why the fuck is he here?" She whispered.

"Good to see you again. It's great to see you again," Walker said, approaching the group.

"You gotta be kidding me. You know him?" Sam asked Raynor annoyed.

"Yeah, we did some field ops back in the day," Raynor answered as they watched Walker.

"I heard you were working with Bucky, so I though I'd step in. Bucky's not gonna be following a strict schedule any longer," Walker informed as he stood beside Maggie.

"And who the fuck authorized that?" Maggie asked, stepping away from Walker.

"I don't agree with how you said it, but I agree," Raynor told Maggie before looking at Walker. "Who authorized this? We haven't finished our work."

Walker smugly pointed to himself. Before Maggie could say something nasty her head turned to doors opening. Bucky walked threw them and she immediately rush to him in relief.

"Hey, are you okay?" Maggie asked, her hands on his cheeks.

"Yeah, I'm fine. You?" Bucky asked, his eyes and face soft just from the sight of her.

"Got some unfinished business, him and I. You too, Maggie, Sam. I'll be outside," Walker said as he walked out.

"James, condition of your release, session now. You too, Margaret, Sam," Raynor told the trio.

"That's okay, I'll be out here-"

"That wasn't a request!" She cut Sam off, earning a glare from Maggie.
