CHAPTER TWELVE: AMBUSH
"MADRIPOOR COULD GIVE NEW YORK A RUN FOR IT'S MONEY."
Sam said as him, Maggie, Bucky, and Zemo followed Sharon into a barge. It was a brave near the coast of Madripoor. Maggie changed into fresher clothes before they left Sharon's place, wearing the black skinny jeans, a white and sleeveless crop top, a black leather jacket, and her combat boots. Her hair pulled into her usual ponytail, keeping her face clear to see.
"They know how to party," Zemo commented.
"With that bounty on your head," Sharon started, checking her phone and taking a right. "The longer you're in Madripoor, the less likely you're leaving." She then stopped in a front row of containers. "Alright, he's in here," she pointed at the red containers and then gave out several earpieces. "Container 4261. I'll keep an eye when you guys talk to Nagel. But hurry. We're on the borrowed time."
The group took the earpieces as Sharon walked away. Maggie and Sam led Bucky and Zemo to the container. Sam opened the door of the container and Bucky looked over Maggie's shoulder to see. It looked empty.
"Hey, Sharon, you sure this is the right one?" Sam asked.
Maggie walked into the container and her boot softly clicked against the metal flooring. "This is odd," she said to herself.
"Positive, it has to be," was Sharon's reply.
Maggie stared at the container's end, and oddly felt air currents and vibrations coming from it. Zemo walked past her and his hands over the wall, feeling for dents. He then turned to Maggie.
"Would you so kindly do the honors?" He asked Maggie.
Maggie gave a short nod in response. A small green blast left her hands, opening the hidden door. Sam and Bucky pulled out their guns immediately. Maggie followed Zemo down the container and the group was met with steps leading up into the darkness. The men followed as she was the first to climb up.
The group walked through a doorway with bright blue light and soft music greeting them. Bucky and Sam circled the room while still holding their guns up while Zemo was behind them. Maggie jerked her head forward, signaling for all three men to follow her.
The group saw a man hunched over a desk, transferring liquid to a test tube. Sam removed the needle off the record player, making the man turn around.
"Dr Nagel?" Sam asked
"Who are you? What do you want?" The man asked in quick suspicion.
"We know you created the super-soldier serum."
"Get out of my lab."
Sam attempted to stop him, but Nagel stopped himself. Nagel's eyes fell on Bucky, who was learning on the machine next to Maggie as he glared at Nagel. Then Nagel noticed Maggie's glare, recognizing them both.
"You know who they are right?" Sam questioned, following Nagel's gaze. "This is Baron Zemo. I know you've heard of him too. You seem like a pretty smart guy." Sam pushed Nagel roughly onto a metal grate. "So you better become conversational real quick."
"How about a counter proposal?" Nagel suggested. "Make me a better offer and I'll talke."
Bucky caught Nagel by his collar, dragged him and there him into a chair.
"Every bounty hunter in the city is here. We gotta go," Sharon painted in their earpieces.
"How'd you get a hold of this?" Maggie asked, gesturing to the chemicals.
