Happy Birthday Bestie!

Kris' POV

"Good morning beautiful!" I barged into her room to see her still sleeping. Uhg! She doesn't even wake up early on our birthday!

Yes we share the same date of birth. Its really cool actually. My birthday is on the same day as my best friends. We both flipped out the first birthday we had when we met. It was awesome. We always celebrate together. This year we get to show each other our mates...you know, as soon as we..find them....but thats just a technicality.

I can't wait to find my mate, my future alpha female. She will be beautiful and strong. I will accept her no matter what. How could I ever reject my soul mate? I think a small part of me was hoping it would be my best friend.

I then pounced on Katherine and shook her under the covers. "WAKE UP, BITCH! ITS OUR BIRTHDAY!!!" I shouted while still shaking her. I probably woke up the whole pack, but I didn't care. Today was special, and if any of those jerks at school tried to pick on her today they will be dead meat.

I heard her groan and then push me off her bed. "Get off of me, I can't breathe!" She whined. "Can't we just skip today? I really don't feel like having a black eye when I meet my mate." She complained.

"Hell no, you're going to school!" I ordered doing the strongest impression of my father I could.

"Okay, okay! Damn no need to go all alpha on me." She said in a playful tone. "But seriously you need to get out now." She said suddenly serious.

"Wha- Why?!" I asked feeling hurt. I always helped her get ready. "Just because we are 17 now doesn't mean I can't still help you get ready." I whined giving her my best puppy dog eyes.

"Really Kris, you can still help me, but you need to exit so I can get up." She said looking at the clock worried we might be late.

"But Whyyyyyyyyyy!?" I asked, stretching the Y like a five year old.

She sighed, "Because I'm very nude under these covers and I doubt you want to see that." She said awkwardly

Suddenly my wolf was begging to get out. He won. "I wouldn't mind seeing that." he said..or...WE said in all seriousness. I wasn't denying it. I have always liked Kat as more than a friend.

She looked over at us surprised in how I was acting then seemed to get confused seeing that my wolf was in control. Our wolves only take control when we are angry, in wolf form, or...mate! Oh my God Kat's my mate! I'M SO EXCITED-...wait.. She.....She can't be my mate. My pack hates her! If I tell them she is their alpha female the might kill her! I can't let that happen! I cannot lose my best friend! I will protect her no matter what. Even if it means my worst nightmare coming true.

She then wrapped herself in her sheets walked into her closet and shut the door. "Perv." She said jokingly as I heard the sheets drop.

My wolf almost ran to her right then and there and marked her as ours. I got control back just in time.

'No! We can't put her in danger!' I told my wolf 'We have to do the unthinkable... We have to reject our mate.' I said as tears streamed down my face.

My wolf whimpered knowing I was right.

Hey guys! New book! I think you guys gave up on my other one which really sucks because I had, and still have, extremely high hopes for it. well I'm starting this book because I had the idea in the shower (I know it's weird, I just think better in the shower) and had to get it down before I forgot. Anyways this chapter is in Kris's eyes because I wanted to show that he wasn't really a bad guy, he just wanted to protect his mate. Next chapter will be in Kat's POV.
