My Best Friend Rejected Me

Unanswered Questions

Kat's POV

We were all just sitting in a booth awkwardly staring at each other until we got our food. "You had some questions for me?" Mom said as she played with her food.

"Well yeah, don't you?" I asked like that was a stupid question. I mean it was but it was still rude of me to say it in the tone that I did.

"Of course, I just want to make sure I answer all of yours first." She said like she might upset me if she didn't have a question or two.

"Well I have one about what happened the night I found you.."I hesitated but mom nodded reassuringly. "Did you see who got you? And if they are targeting you they know you aren't dead so I'm also wondering why they haven't attacked yet."

Mom shifted in her seat (Not that kind of shift the human kind of shift) but answered the question. "I did see her but I probably wouldn't recognize her because when I woke up I thought for sure she was the hunter but I saw that she was part of the pack and a friend of yours and realized how wrong that was." I pictured my dream of Sarah killing Jessi and got a bad feeling "And as to why they haven't attacked again, how would they know I'm not dead?"

"Oh yeah, that's another thing I had to talk to you about, I had an experience with Nyx while I was in my coma after Kris marked me." I said as Spencer let out a growl "She said the wolf I saw was someone from the inside. Working from 'my' pack. I'm not sure if she was speaking of Kris' or Spencer's." I said and when Spencer got over the mention of Kris he looked shocked.

"Nyx came to you? Like, was she physically there?" He asked still in shock.

"Yeah, why do you ask?" I asked him a little worried about what his reply would be.

"When you were in your coma I fell asleep next to you and I felt like I was sharing your experience. I say her talking but I didn't feel like myself and she was calling you 'my daughter' and child and I was confused but the thoughts were familiar. They were yours. So what she said about the mates, how you might lose one when you chose another..That was real?"

"Yes.." I said putting my head down. I knew what she meant. By rejecting one something bad would happen to him. I hate that I put the person who had been there for me my whole life at risk but I had to do what was best for me. I made my choice and I stand by it and I can't say that I could just as easily made the choice if it was Spencer that I had to reject. I mean he is just too sweet to reject.

After that he was asking half of a question and I was answering. It pretty much went like this:

S: "So you knew...?" ((So you knew whoever you rejected might die?))

K: "Yes"

S: "And you still..?" ((And you still chose to reject him?))

K: "Yes"

S: "Are you..?" ((Are you okay?))

K: "Fine"

S: "You sure?" ((You sure you're alright?))

K: "Yes"

S: "You wanna..?" ((You wanna talk about it later?))

K: "Sure"

"What is going on right now?" My mother asked. I had almost forgot she was there.

"Nothing." Spencer and I both said at the same time. 

Alright then. Well to answer your question I have no idea why they haven't attacked again. maybe they just wanted to kill me because I was evil and now I'm not so they don't care." My mother said with a shrug.

"Well either way we need to find out who in the pack is a traitor." I said looking around to make sure nobody was listening. "And until we do that we can't trust anyone. especially not Sarah." I said as Spencer's eyes widened and mom looked over confused.

Hey guys sorry if this sucks and it's short.(Only 761 words, sheesh how tiny! So Sorry) I've been crying and having panic attacks after I hit 200 words. Real sorry! Thanks for reading anyways though and I'll try to make the chapters better I swear! I can't think of anything else to say I'm still crying so I'm gonna go.
