Kris' POV
~FLASHBACK~
I was walking down the street and I saw the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. Although I was only 13 all I could do was hope to the Goddess that my mate was even half as beautiful as she was. I ran up to her to try and make a friend. I was new in town so I didn't have any. She was wearing a long sleeve but when the wind blew I could see the cuts she had been hiding. There were so many of them...They were so deep..
"Hey, my name is Kris, what's yours?" I had asked. She looked up a little frightened and I thought I saw her flinch but I wasn't certain. "It's okay, I'm not gonna hurt you. My daddy is the new alpha, since yours didn't have a son when he...well you know, and my daddy tells me a good alpha never hurts those who don't deserve to be hurt." I said. I'm sure I sounded really stupid but she relaxed a little.
"I'm Katherine but you can call me Kat." She smiled and that was it for me. I didn't want a mate that was just half as beautiful as her, I wanted her. I never thought about dating in my life but in that moment I knew I would only even consider it if it was with her.
"Kat. A beautiful name for a beautiful girl." I said and we both started blushing. "Can I walk you home Kat?" I had asked. We were heading to the same place anyway, right?
"Sure, but you have to be quiet. I'm not supposed to bring your kind home." She told me, taking my hand as she started walking again. I stopped walking and she twisted around and looked at me confused.
"My kind? I'm a werewolf just like you." I had said. I really was confused, I thought she lived with the pack at the pack house.
"I know. That's what I'm saying. I have strict no werewolf rules. They like to hurt me." She said and looked over to her shoulder where I could see half of a huge bruise.
"I won't hurt you Kat. I've no reason for it." I told her looking in her eyes so that she would see I wasn't lying. She smiled and started to skip whilst I followed beside her. ((Not like he had much of a choice, she still had hold of his hand. lolz))
"Okay, I guess I could make an exception. But you can't tell anybody where it is or what you see in there." She said and I started to get worried. Was I about to see someone's dead body? Was she a murderer? Eh, what had my friendly nature got me into this time?
"Alright, I promise. Unless you find your mate, right?" I asked looking for some sort of reaction.
"You plan on staying around me for that long?" she asked. She didn't look back, but I could tell someone hurt her badly because she stopped skipping and she didn't sound so bright and happy anymore. her grip on my hand tightened and loosened again
"If you wish it I would stay by your side forever." I told her, and I meant it.
She stopped completely and turned around and hugged me tight. She then grabbed my hand again and continued walking.
We got to the tree line and she kept walking into them. I didn't think she was going to kill me but I was still a little concerned. Where was a member of what would soon be my pack sleeping at night? Somewhere in the woods?! I needed to change that.
We got to what looked liked a rock covered in a lot of moss. You actually couldn't even see the rock, just a lot of moss. then she swiped her hand across it and there was no more moss, just a beautiful stream, the sun came down through the trees, and there was a smell cave on the other side. She pushed me in a little and waved her hand back over where the moss was and sealed it back. We could see out but they couldn't see in. It was actually pretty brilliant.
"How did you do that?" I asked going back over to where the moss was. I brushed my hand across it. I could feel it but I couldn't see it. It was amazing.
"My mom is a white wolf and my father is a black wolf. I think that makes me way different but so far this is the only power I have found." She said walking towards the river and plopping down with her feet hanging in it.
"Well where are your parents?" I had asked. I wish I hadn't because the look of pain that came across her face almost made me cry.
"My mother lives at the pack house, and my father..." a little sob escaped as a tear ran down her face. "My father raped me and abandoned us." She started to cry harder so I went over and hugged her. She leaned her head on my chest and after a few minutes the sobbing had stopped and she washed away her dried tears with the stream water. "Wanna see where I sleep?" She asked cheerful, like she was trying to pretend she wasn't just crying her eyes out a minute ago.
I smiled softly at her and nodded my head. "Sure." Next thing I knew she jumped into the stream and was swimming to the other side. I dove in after her and when we got to the other side of her sanctuary she got out and walked over to the cave.
"This is home. It's a little depressing but it's home." She said, spreading her arms out wide spinning around a bit. It wasn't as dark as you would think but it was still a little shadowy. I looked around a bit. I saw a knife a some dried blood but there were also bandage wrappers around there so she wasn't a murderer, just to herself. I saw rope in a knot, the kind used to hang someone by her bed but she quickly hid it under her covers.
"What was that?" I asked trying to look around her but she stepped in front of my view. "
Just a thing I had on my to do list for today." she said turning me around and walking me out of the cave. "Well thanks for walking me home, I'll see you around, kay? BYEEE!" she said as she go to the stream. I turned around, just as she did, and grabbed her wrist before she could walk away. I spun her around and hugged her tight. Tears fell down her face again and she hugged me back.
"Killing yourself is not the answer. It just lets them think they won. It lets them pretend to be sad to get sympathy. Do you want that?" I asked. I didn't know where it came from but I knew what to say to her.
"What's the point? Not like anybody cares anyway." she said pulling back. I kept my hands on her shoulders so that we were making eye contact.
"I would care." I said, at first it was just to comfort her ( I mean, I didn't even know her) but I realized the truth behind it once I said it to her. She looked at me with tears still in her eyes and she hugged me tight.
"I think I will always wish it." She said. And we sat like that for hours.
Hey guys, I hope this helps explain some of her past to you. For all of you who hated Kris what do you think of him after reading this? So this is why she never speaks of her parents, she was pretty much abandoned. Anyways, hope y'all enjoyed the chapter, I think it was one of my longer ones. I just couldn't end it until I got that ending. There is one more flash back that I have planned at the moment but tell me what you think about it. Thanks for reading guys!
