KAT'S POV
It was around 2 am when I heard a noise, a window opening, then the drop on the ground. I quickly open the door, I don't sense anyone in the room, and I jump out the window. I see a shadow running into the trees. I get my phone out and start a podcast, so that whatever happens I have full proof of it, because after what's been going on with me lately I'm gonna need it, before running after her. It isn't too bad since my hearing is enhanced more than the average wolf I know exactly where she is.
About an hour or two later I hear her stop. I realize where we were before I heard their voice. That voice would haunt me as long as I lived. "Sarah, did you come alone?"
"Yeah, I heard someone at first but after I started running I couldn't hear them so they must have heard a deer and started tracking it." Sarah replied through her gasps as she tried to catch her breath. If she had went to pack training like I told her she wouldn't be outta breath. Although I guess it's a good thing she didn't huh?
I thought back to what I did in the basement to make Spencer not see me. I thought about how much I didn't want to be seen and looked down. Nothing. Okay so, I know how to control that, now I gotta work on the flames. I blinked up into a tree, dead branch, blink away to a new one as the old one crashes to the ground.
"What was that?" I heard Sarah say.
"I don't know. Stay here I'll be back." The voice said walking towards the tree next to me. She looked up into the tree's for a few minutes before turning back to Sarah. "Are you sure you weren't followed?" She asked as Sarah swayed, obviously nervous.
"Well I mean, I didn't hear anyone, and my hearing is stronger than yours, and I don't hear anything right now.." Sarah said slowly thinking through all the possibilities "I mean how would anyone be able to track me if they were out of my hearing range?"
"....Yeah, I guess that's true." She said. Now for what I came hear to tell you." She said walking closer to Sarah. I wasn't sure if my phone was picking up the voices so I tested something out. There was a rock across from where they were standing.
I pictured it floating, it took a minute or two but it started to levitate when I pointed at it and it moved wherever I pointed to. I pointed at my phone and, without even having to focus on what I wanted to happen, it started to float out of my hand. I slowly moved it so that it was floating above their heads.
"They think you killed me, so I need you to continue being sad and when they least expect it you need to attack. There will be two guards outside your door one night thats when you strike. You need to make it a quickie so just go for the throat and move on. You are going to need to take out the Alpha's mate, she's the only one that can stop the war. Then you come back here and leave a red flag on the tree right there," She said pointing at a random willow in the mess of Pines and Oaks "Then we will begin our attack. If they discover it was you you need to run to where we stayed as children. They don't know what awaits there. I have to get back now in case the person that was hunting you comes back. I love you Sarah. Goodbye."
"I love you too." Sarah said as she looked at the ground and her sister vanished. I pulled the phone back to me and blinked home. I went to Spencers room and woke him up to show him what I had witnessed.
"Spencer wake up, theres something you need to listen to." I said poking his arm childishly but my voice sounded old and tired. He woke up and when he saw me I caught, for .5 of a second, fear, then it was replaced with worry.
"What's wrong?" He asked examining me. I could hear him thinking. 'What am I so scared of? She is my mate! I love her, and she would never hurt me. Just because she can do certain things doesn't mean I feel differently about her. I love her.' At least he is trying, it hurts that he has to talk himself out of the fear he feels when I am near him.
"Nothing is wrong, but Sarah is bad news." I played the recording, half of it was me running and then the crash of the branch and silence until I levitated the phone. He listened in shock at the familiar voice.
"Is that.....Jessi?"
