My Best Friend Rejected Me

So It Begins

KATS POV

I walked through the house and as I passed each door I heard everyone startled awake. I might have, maybe, possibly, blared Three Days Grace music in their minds. Oops. I got to the kitchen and stood there staring at the door until lots of vampires started appearing. They froze when they saw me, obviously Hitomi had not informed the others that a wolf was staying with them. My brother appeared next to me with my mate, as requested. I heard a few quiet growls and some of them from the front row took fighting stances. I held up my hand they stopped, with shocked looks on their faces.

"Our Goddess has requested we work together in this war, friends. She wishes an end to the fighting, and death of her children. And I wish it as well. I'm tired of hating someone simply because they are not my kind, something our ancestors did should not affect us. It is in the past, and there is no changing what happened, but we can show that it doesn't have to affect us. I believe that, together, we can defeat the rouge pack, the hunters. No one else has to die prematurely." I spoke, projecting my voice so everyone could hear. 

I looked around and saw some of their faces soften, but some remained cold. I then noticed Hitomi pushing his way to the front. I smiled at him as he appeared and held out my hand for him. He smiled shyly and took it, joining me in front of his people.

"Our Goddess has gifted my brother with a vampire mate, and yours with a wolf match." I said looking around before smiling at Hitomi. "I could not be more proud that Hitomi was chosen to be a part of my family." I said before looking back at the crowd "And I hope you all feel the same about my brother Zach." I stated, grabbing his hand as well and giving it a reassuring squeeze.

I looked around everyone seemed neutral. I took that as my moment to drop the bomb. I released my brother, and his mates hands and stepped forward. "Starting today, you will begin training. Led by my mate and I, we will teach you how to fight against wolves, and hunters. We will be prepared for them, whenever they decide to strike. Now eat, and then we meet out back. You have twenty minutes. I suggest you feast quickly. This will be no walk in the park. You'll be pushed to your absolute limits and then shoved some more. There will be no breaks in war, there will be no breaks today." I said before turning and blinking to my room. Jeez, being a leader is stressful.

Hey y'all! Another short chapter, I know. It may take a bit to get back into the swing of things, but I'll get there. I hope you enjoy this chapter though. Next chapter is training, so it should be fun. Vamps and Wolves that hated each other for centuries all getting together and fighting each other.... yeahhhh well...
