Mistakes Were Made

Kris' POV

I had realized what an awful mistake I had made, thinking rejecting my mate was the only option I had, I was about to tell them when they attacked her though, I just couldn't. I was going to be alpha, if they wanted Kat they would have to go through me. I zoned back in and saw my "friends" beating up on Kat. I didn't know that they were in on it or I would never have hung out with them. Oh Goddess all those times I asked if she would hang out with us and got mad when she declined, I was such an ass. I quickly let my wolf take over and when I regained control all my those mother fuckers were passed out on the ground. Lets see how they like it.

"Are you okay?" I asked as I grabbed her and helped her to her feet without hesitating. They didn't do much damage, she still looked perfect. I then realized that she was just staring at me in shock and I got worried. I had forgotten about the sparks that she would feel and if I wasn't the one to tell her she would think I was going to reject her. "K-Kat?" I stuttered as I waved my hand in her face to break the trance she was in.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry that was just- Uhh, surprising." She said as if she thought I would just let them hurt her. There was a short silence as I tried to control my wolf again. He was dying to finish them off so that they would never hurt our mate again, but killing another wolf without being attacked in attempts of death is punishable by death. Blood for Blood.

"Does...that happen often?" I asked. I already knew the answer, I have watched it happen, just making sure they didn't kill her. I should have stopped it completely.

"N-no, I mean not really just..sometimes. They don't usually go for my face though. Most of the time it's somewhere I can hide." She lied. I felt disappointed. She didn't trust me with the truth. I remembered that it was my fault this happened, I could have stopped it but I didn't, and that pissed me off. But if my pack members weren't such ass holes I wouldn't have had to.

"Usually means it happens often Kat." I said clenching and unclenching me jaw. I was balling my fists so hard I thought I might draw blood. "Is that why you would never except my offer to drive you to school? Because of them?" I had offered her so many times so that I could help but she would never let me. Today though, I wouldn't let her decline.

"Y-yeah.." She said with her head down.

"I'm sorry I never did anything." I said getting ready to tell her, "I should have noticed it-" I had started to explain. I was going to tell her I knew I just didn't know how much it effected her, but another group of kids came out and started towards her ignoring my existence. I stepped out in front of them and growled. They backed away but noticed his buddies on the ground and started fuming.

"What the hell man? Why are you protecting the weakling?" Justin said as he tried to shove past me. I grabbed Kat around her waist and pulled her up against me. I felt sparks instantly which only made me even more pissed that he wanted to attack my mate. I growled louder more fierce until they all were a good distance away.

"Mine!" I said in a challenging voice. She looked at me I saw the hurt in her eyes. It wasn't supposed to happen like this. I loved her so much, I always have. Why didn't I just tell her?! I loosened up on her and was about to tell her everything  but she took off running. I was chasing after her but it was no use, she would only stay if she wanted to anyway.

I went back to the house and waited in her room. Screw school, I only cared about Kat....

Hey guys! So this is what was going through Kris' head when all this was going down. I really didn't want to hate Kris but he is being quite stupid, am I right? Didn't think it would effect her that much, She was being beaten every day and he didn't think it would effect her. WTF. I know, I probably sound crazy but my characters do what they want. I was expecting him to be the biggest jerk ever to her after he found out but nope. Haha anyways, This chapter is dedicated to fob_bvb Thanks for reading and commenting. I am glad you like the story!
