I MAKE MY WAY TO ART AND WAIT OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM. A short haired brunette girl comes skipping over to me. "Hi, I'm Alice!" She smiles and pulls me into a hug. I let out a small noise at the unexpected impact before awkwardly hugging her back.

"I'm Tallulah, it's nice to meet you." She smiles at me and a blonde girl stands next to her. "Alice, let the poor girl go." The blonde haired girl says. "Ah! Sorry!" She apologises and I chuckle. "It's okay." I smile at her. "This is my sister Rosalie." Alice introduces and I smile at the blonde.

"It's nice to meet you." I hold my hand out and she looks at it, then at me. "Pleasure." She hums out, not shaking my hand. I put it back and smile. "How are you finding the school so far?" Alice asks me. "It's great, everyone is so nice." Alice giggles. "That's good to hear." The teacher opens the door and we step inside.

Alice practically pulls me to sit beside her and Rosalie. "You were in Joffrey Ballet? Did you leave the company?" Rosalie asks me. "Oh no, I might be going to rehearsals on the weekends." I say to her and she nods. "I saw some of your dances online. You're amazing." Alice gushes.

"Girls. Be quiet please." The teacher says and looks at me. "Miss Delacruz, it's nice to have you here." I smile at the male teacher. "This term we've been focusing on our realism, everyone, feel free to continue with your work, and Miss Delacruz, you may take a canvas from the cupboard and begin sketching your artwork." I nod and grab a large canvas from the cupboard.

I get a spare pack of pencils and bring them over to the long table where I'm sat. "So, what are you thinking of doing?" Alice asks me and paints on colours to her canvas. "I'm not sure, but I'm sure it will come to me." Alice laughs and I look at the blank canvas.

An idea strikes my mind. It is something. I slowly draw a back with hands scratching it. Much like the Black Swan. But instead of a feather coming from the skin, the girl is scratching at the scar down her back. My scar.

By the end of the lesson I begin to paint it and Alice leans over to look at my work. "Wow! That's really good." She gapes and Rosalie looks at it as well. "I have to admit, it's impressive." Rosalie says to me and I smile. "I'll take it." I smile at her and Alice giggles.

Lunch comes around quite quickly and I hold my tray of little food and sit down next to Bella.  Mike sits down beside me. "Hey, Mikey! You met my homegirls, Bella and Tallulah?" Eric asks him. "Oh, your home girl?" Mike asks and a boy leans in between Bella and I and gives her a kiss on the cheek.

"My girl." He says and pulls Mike's chair. Mike falls onto the floor and the dark-skinned man laughs. "Sorry I had to mess up your game Mike!" He runs and Mike chases after him. "Oh my god." Jessica says and moves her chair closer to me. "It's like first grade all over again. You're like the shiny new toy." She says sarcastically.

"Smile." A girl with a camera says and on instinct I put on my best smile. She takes a photo of me and then of Bella. "Sorry, I needed a candid for the feature." I smile at her. "It's fine." I say. "The features dead, Angela. Don't bring it up again." Eric stands up before placing his hands on Bella's shoulders.

"It's okay, I just-" Bella gets cut off. "I got your back, baby." Eric tells her and taps her shoulder before walking away. "Guess we'll just run another editorial on teen drinking." I don't eat my food. "You know, you can always go for eating disorders." Bella suggests and my blood runs cold.

"Speedo padding on the swim team?" She finishes. "Actually, that's a good one." Angela says. "Kirk. Right? That's exactly what I thought." Jessica laughs. I don't know what Kirk means. I spot Alice walking past the window. "Who are they?" Bella asks and I look at the other people.

"The Cullens?" I look at the girls. "They're Dr. And Mrs. Cullen's foster kids. They moved down here from Alaska like, a few years ago." Jessica gossips. "They kind of keep to themselves." Angela adds. "Yeah, 'cause they're all together. Like together, together." I nod my head.

"The blonde girl, that's Rosalie. And the big dark-haired guy, Emmett, they're like, a thing. I'm not even sure that's legal." Jessica tells us. "Jess, they're not actually related." Angela reminds her. "Yeah, but they live together. It's weird. And, okay, the little dark-haired girl's Alice. She's really weird. She's with Victor, who's like a total football star." Victor twirls Alice around as they walk to their table.

I lock eyes with the short haired brunette and she waves at me. I smile at her and she giggles, pulling her boyfriend to sit at their table. "Dr. Cullen's like this foster dad/matchmaker." Jessica says to us. "Maybe he'll adopt me." Angela teases and I laugh. "Maybe." I say with a chuckle.

"Who's he?" Bella stutters out and I follow her gaze to two boys. One blonde and one brunette. "Which one?" I ask her. "The brunette." She stutters out and Jessica chuckles. "That's Edward Cullen, totally gorgeous. Obviously. But apparently nobody here's good enough for him. Like I care, you know." She definitely cares.

"And the Blonde is Jasper. Completely flawless. Perfect grades. But he always looks like he's in pain. Seriously, like, don't waste your time." She says to Bella. I look at the blonde as he walks. Now that she's said it, he does look in pain.

"Wasn't planning on it." Bella stutters out before turning her head to gaze at Edward, who glares at her. I raise my eyebrows slightly and pull a face before returning it to normal. That's not creepy or weird at all.

"So, back to the feature." Jessica says and glances at me and my food. "Eating disorders does seem like a good idea. Don't you think, Tallulah?" She asks me and I smile. "Sure." She nods her head before laughing. "Are you sure you don't have an eating disorder? You haven't touched your food?" I smile again. Why is she pushing it?

"Oh, I'm not hungry." Jessica nods with a hum. "I mean obviously, dancers have to be skinny, don't they?" I shake my head. "They don't, it doesn't matter the body type, only if they enjoy to dance." I say to her. "Right, and that's why you look like you haven't ate in months?" She giggles and shoves food into her mouth.

"Jess, stop." Angela tells her. I look at Jessica with wide eyes and my eyebrows raised. I push my tongue into the corner of my cheek and suck my lips together. I've never been insulted this badly before. Especially not by someone I've met the same day.

"I don't think it's any of your business. And if you'll excuse me, I'm going to eat my lunch elsewhere." I scoff and push myself away from the table. "Perché gli adolescenti sono così cattivi?" I mumble under my breath in my native language. "What? We were all thinking it." I hear Jess say. "No, we weren't, Jess." Angela responds.

I shove my food into the bin and place my tray on top of it. I walk away, feeling absolutely hollow.
