Setting: McDonald Residence.
Aleisha: (opens door, pulling her luggage) Welcome to le home, mah homie.
Luke: American slang doesn't suit you.
Aleisha: Were you always this prissy? What did I ever see in you?
Luke: (shrugs) I really don't know.
Jane: (from upstairs, excited) Is that my daughter I hear?!
Aleisha: Yes, mama! Guess who else is here!
Jane: (from the staircase, looks at Aleisha then Luke, clutches chest) Oh, Luke. (emotional) It's so nice to finally see you again.
Luke: (smiles) I've missed you, too, Mama Jane.
Jane: (hurries down the stairs, stops in front of Luke) So handsome. Can...may I have a hug?
Luke: (smirks, lightly) You have to ask?
Jane: (laughs, pulls him in for a long hug, glances at Aleisha, sees Aleisha's worried expression, pulls away) I've got both of your rooms set up. Luke, you'll be staying in the guest room. Have you had anything to eat? Hungry?
Luke: (yawns) Yeah. At the airport. Tired, though.
Jane: (nods towards stairs) It's up the stairs, second door on your left.
Luke: Thank you. (heads up the stairs with his luggage)
Jane: (hugs Aleisha, pulls away, smiles) How have you been, my child?
Aleisha: (shrugs) Same old, same old. Missed you, mama.
Jane: I missed you, too. (glances at stairway, voice low) How is he?
Aleisha: (quirks lips) Heartbroken.
Jane: When is he not? That boy has always had it hard. What with Andrew for a father. (sighs) He took it so hard when his mother died.
Aleisha: Yeah. Mama, could you not mention to any of the Hemmings that Luke is back?
Jane: (understanding) He still doesn't want to see them, does he?
Aleisha: (shakes head) No. He's here for some R&R. He doesn't need anything upsetting him.
Jane: I'll do my best. I won't tell Ben or Jack. (eyebrows furrow) But I can't help if anyone sees him and word gets out.
Aleisha: (smiles, soft) I know, mama. I just hope it all goes well.
