november had finally gotten herself a job at a dog adoption center near her apartment. she loved animals, especially dogs, so she was excited.

niall was still stressing over theo, because he was diagnosed with an ammonia, and was being treated at the hospital. he wanted to fly out to make sure he was okay, but maura assured him he was doing fine.

november walked into the dog adoption center, uniform on and everything. she spent the day feeding and walking the dogs, falling more and more in love with her new job.

once she got home, she called niall and told him about her day.

"and then this puppy, clover, was it's name.. she's so cute, ni. i just wanna take her home with me," november put the phone on speaker, and began making herself a snack.

"that's great, babe."

november frowned. she knew niall was upset about theo, but she didn't think it was affecting him this much.

"do you wanna come over? get your mind off of theo?"

she grabbed a bag of popcorn from the cupboard and placed it in the microwave,"we could watch a movie or something."

"okay. i'll be right there," niall replied, hanging up afterwards.

once niall got to november's apartment, he didn't bother kissing her, or even hugging her, he just plopped himself on the couch and began eating the popcorn she had set out.

"how's theo doing?"

"better, i guess."

there was an awkward silence.

"why don't you go visit him? school starts in three weeks and you could just stay for a few days," november sat next to him, rubbing circles into his bicep.

"mum says i don't need to go, but i want to be there for him, you know? i know it's not a big deal but he's my nephew and i'm supposed to be there for him."

november gave him a sympathetic look. she knew how he felt, but it was easier for her to see her cousins since they lived in los angeles.

"what movie do you want to watch? we can stream something off netflix."

"can we not watch a movie? liam was telling me about this show called bob's burgers? i think that's what it's called," niall grabbed the remote, turning on the tv.

"i love that show! yeah of course. anything you want."

so the couple spent the next two hours streaming episodes and laughing at all of the jokes. niall started feeling a bit better until he got a phone call from harry.

"hey, what's up?"

"louis broke up with m-me," harry sobbed through the phone.

niall gave november a helpless look, making her take the phone from him.

"harry? it's nov. what happened?"

"i-i don't know. we got into a fight and he just said we should take a break and," he hiccuped.

november had grown fond of harry, and she found her and louis adorable. she knew how much harry cared for him, so hearing him like this made her heart ache.

"what was the fight about?"

"he started talking to this guy named zayn on some website and they were talking about meeting up and having a smoke sesh or something. i already don't like it how he smokes weed but now he does this."
