A/N: the image above was meant for bonfire night btw.

Winter POV:

I stared at Qibli in utter shock.

What the heck is going on?

Flames maliciously made their way through the cave and smoke piled up thickly inside of the small room. Qibli had a large tear through his wing from when he'd snagged it. Smoke fell in front of him until he was barely visible anymore.

I dove back into the room. It might seem like a bit of a stupid decision, but as much as I hated him, he didn't deserve to die. It wasn't hard to find him, and when I did, I grabbed his arm and dragged him to the window ledge helping him to climb out and down to a tree, well away from the flames.

Qibli practically collapsed next to the tree, coughing violently as he sat down. I stared at him, concern written all over my features.

I grimaced as blood dripped from his wing, dying the grass around it a dark crimson.

All that mattered right now was finding out who- or what- had caused this fire and hurt poor Qibli.

Not that I cared of course. . .
