A dark past to a bright future

Chapter 1

(Universe Guardian Online forest dungeon boss room)

Unknown girl (floating in the air): Look out it's about to unleash its attack.

Unknown boy (landing after jump to the side right before the boss vertical slash hit him): Thanks for the warning.

The boy jumped at the samurai boss so the girl covered him by releasing five fireballs at the boss's face creating a smoke screen blocking the monster's sight. This allows the boy to go past the boss's neck before he turns around to unsheathe his katana to unleash a vertical slash on the boss's back making half of its third bar empty. After the boy landed the samurai boss glowed turning itself into an oni samurai. Once the glow disappears it immediately unleashes a fire slash with its katana on the girl but she made a shield appear by having her arms in front of her. However, the girl's shield soon breaks having the fire slash explode sending her flying towards the ground.

(near the wall)

Unknown boy (running over): Are you okay Ishtar?

Ishtar (unknown girl (standing while her wings disappear after hitting the floor)): Yeah. I didn't lose that much hp.

Ishtar has white tailbone-length hair, cat ears, light purple eyes, and a light purple crescent moon on her forehead. She's wearing a white middle-length dress but the back reaches to her ankle with a black belt on her hip and shoulder off kimono sleeves. Black long gloves that hook around her middle finger, black middle-length leggings, and white boots with short heels. On her back hip, she has two horizontal opposite swords that have a white blade, a black handle that's white inside with a light purple tassel at the pommel, and a black sheath.

Unknown boy (look at her health bar): You did lose half.

Ishtar (using healing magic on herself): You're lucky I'm a mage or we would be in trouble Mazoku.

Mazoku (unknown boy (while Ishtar uses a skill point potion)): True. Plus I don't always have to defend you since your subclass is swordsman.

Mazoku has black mid-thigh length hair that covered his left eye a bit but is tied in a high ponytail by using a blue ribbon, pointy ears, and eyes blue. He's wearing a blue shirt with no sleeves, a black ankle-length coat with kimono sleeves, a blue rope on his hip that is tied to the right side, blue inside, and the top half is zipped up to his chest. Black middle-length gloves that don't cover his fingers, blue trousers, and black plimsols. His katana has a silver blade and a black handle that has blue inside but in his rope is a black sheath that has the bottom half blue.

Ishtar: Well if I didn't have sharp eyes your hp would have been orange.

A fireball was coming towards them so Ishtar held out her hands making a water shield appear shielding them from the attack.

Mazoku (while the water shield disappears): Can you use your magic with your swords?

Ishtar (looking at the corner of her eyes to look at her magic list): I have at least one or two. Since our opponent is a fire oni I can use one of my water magic but these sword magic skills take a lot of sp.

Mazoku (start running): I'll give you an opening so be ready.

(middle of the room)

While running five kunai appear on his right hand having a red paper at the pommel so when he throws it at the boss's face it explodes after the tip of the blade touches the face.

Mazoku (in his mind while the boss turns): As I expected they don't deal that much with a boss but it's the best way to distract them.

When the samurai boss turn it unleash a diagonal slash but Mazoku jump a bit before suddenly appearing near the boss's face. He quickly unleashed a diagonal slash before unleashing quick slashes making the second to last bar reach halfway. The boss grabbed Mazoku before squeezing him having his hp slowly go down but suddenly an ice chain appeared wrapping around its arm instantly freezing its lower arm.

Mazoku (in his mind): Always got my back with your cloak skill.

Suddenly the lower arm was cut off setting Mazoku free by letting him go but while the arm fell it disappeared. After Mazoku landed the boss unleashed a vertical slash having the blade covered in fire so he sheath his katana waiting.

Mazoku (at the same time knocking the boss attack with his katana): Switch.

Ishtar appears while running past Mazoku before unsheathing one of her swords having water soon appears on the blade. When she got close her wings appeared before she flew up unleashing a long upper vertical slash having a water dragon appear after jumping from the boss's feet. Once Ishtar reaches the head she quickly turns around having the water dragon enter the blade before cutting the boss's head off making the boss hp bar go to zero.

Mazoku (while Ishtar lands): Are your sword magic skills always that powerful?

Ishtar (standing near Mazoku having her wings closed while sheathing her sword): No. I always use an attack boost spell to strengthen the final attack.

Mazoku (walking to the treasure chest after it appears): I still don't get how you know the difference between your normal sword skills and the sword skills that have been fused with magic.
