Ruby's dad (holding a clipboard): Iris's condition with her mind is a lot better than what you told me on the phone.
Souji (standing next to Iris while she sits on a chair drinking a cold drink): Have any clue why it was bad at the beginning?
Ruby's dad: I may be wrong but the experience from Iris's childhood to before she met you two might have been too much for her. That causes her to give up on life. However, after finding this UGO game her mind became a bit better being stress-free but the more she played the more distance she got from real life.
Iris: That's exactly what happened after moving out of my parent's house.
Ruby's dad: How do you feel now?
Iris: Well I'm still worried about my future but after Ruby and Souji entered my life I started enjoying each day.
Ruby's dad: Good to hear you speak positively.
Ruby (sitting next to Iris): Hey dad. Should we still be worried about her speaking weird things during and after a battle in UGO?
Ruby's dad: Since you told me it hasn't happened a lot. I think you shouldn't worry however if it happens more than before then we need to see through the recording when exactly she says those things. (look at Iris) Are you still fine with allowing us to record you while you are on UGO with Souji?
Iris: I'm fine with it since it's helping you out to see if I need further treatment.
Ruby's dad: Let's end it here. If you like come and see me once in a couple of months to have these talks. During those conversations, I'll give you an update on the records I made from my daughter's reports.
Iris: Okay.
Souji (notice the time): We should get going.
Ruby's dad: Head to my office. Your father waiting in there.
Souji (while Ruby and Iris stand): Thank you.
(hallway)
Iris: It felt weird going into that machine.
Ruby: Well my dad wanted to check your health before checking your mind.
Iris: I'm surprised both your fathers know each other that well.
Souji: Let's say they go way back.
Iris (in her mind): How far way back?
(Ruby's dad's office)
Souji's dad (sitting on the sofa seeing the door open): Nice to see you again Iris.
Iris (entering the room after Souji): Hello sir.
Souji's dad (while Ruby closes the door): Do you actually want to become a shadow?
Iris (sitting on the opposite sofa): I do.
Souji's dad (while Souji and Ruby sit next to Iris): What you want to take part in is dangerous. You could die.
Iris: Everyone does die at some point in their lives. This job you created brings people close to death but at least they know that they died for saving someone. We're basically sharing the risk as your job.
Souji's dad: But you understand that you're just a small group being used. You're simply becoming a tool.
Iris: But what happens if we quit? As long as we don't kill no one we can still return to our normal life.
Souji's dad: Becoming a shadow in my unit means you shall not kill. You can injure them if they carry a weapon. You use your weapon to protect people who can't protect themselves. Finally, you arrest bad people when they're doing something fishy or mysterious.
Iris: A balance of rules.
Souji: We continue with our ordinary life but when something bad happens we try to stop them ahead of time until the police arrive.
Ruby: We sign up for this new unit to help people.
Souji's dad: Let me ask you again Iris Sakura. Do you want to enter the life of being a shadow for my unite?
Iris: Let me say this. People from the past to now have no connection to the decisions I made. In the past, the Sakura family was a secret gang but for this generation and the future, the Sakura family will support the Takanda family.
Souji (in his mind surprise): Support my family?
Souji's dad: Why are you making a whole new path for your family?
Iris: Well since you became my guardian I thought it makes sense to share the path you created.
Souji's dad (shock): I'm lost for words Souji. You made another interesting friend.
Souji (leans back crossing one of his legs): What you say, Dad? Do you give her permission to join us?
Souji's dad (after sighing): Fine. Iris Sakura I welcome you to the shadow police force and officially make you three a team.
Iris (bowing): Pleasure to work with your squad.
Ruby (hugging Iris by the neck): I'm so happy for you.
Iris: Thank you, Ruby.
Souji's dad: I'll let Souji know when your license is done. However, take your time to pick a self-defense weapon.
Iris: What happens to the weapon when we stop being shadows?
