(middle of the room)
While they held the block Souji suddenly saw Iris's eyes turn dull still having sharp pupils before she put more force. Souji broke the block to gain some distance but Iris immediately charged at him. Because of Iris's speed, Souji had to switch between blocking and using his speed to dodge.
Ruby (from a distance): Get away Souji!
Souji (after blocking): Not this time. (in his mind) Something different about this change.
After breaking the block and gaining some distance Iris was about to move but she suddenly got a flashback seeing a blade covered in blood before going to her knees.
Souji (rushing over with his eyes normal): What's wrong Iris?
Iris (on one knee having her mouth covered and eyes normal): I don't feel so good.
Ruby (before leaving): I'll get her a drink.
Souji (sitting next to Iris): Why not lie down?
Iris (moving her hand before standing): I think I'll be fine now.
Souji (after pulling Iris to him to make her lie down on his lap by grabbing her wrist): Just for a bit.
Iris (blushing while trying not to make eye contact): Okay.
Souji: Iris be honest. Halfway through the match, you saw something.
Iris: I saw a few flashbacks of my past that I thought I had forgotten.
Souji: Memories of when you were a child. That happened to me when I was sparing with Ruby. However, I lost control at the time but when I was about to kill Ruby I stopped having tears falling from my face before passing out.
Iris (look at Souji): Did you see something?
Souji: A memory of the first person I kill. That one mistake made me make bad decisions.
Iris: For some reason, I saw the moment when my dad killed someone in my parent's house. At the time I was too young to understand what was going on but I think he might have killed a person from another gang.
Souji: That was a long time ago then. I'm surprised our match brought back that memory.
Iris (sitting up): Well it was the first time I saw someone else's blood.
Ruby (walking with a cup of water): I'm back. How are you feeling?
Iris (taking the cup): Better.
Ruby: I think we should end it here.
Iris (after finishing drinking the cup): Actually I want to continue.
Souji: Don't push yourself.
Iris: I'm not. I want to overcome everything since we're fighting like we're going to kill each other.
Ruby: Fine but I'm going to be helping too.
Iris (smiling): Kay.
Ruby: But first we got to stretch. After all, you two have the game event tomorrow. Souji leaves Iris with me.
Souji (standing while Ruby ties Iris's hair before walking away): Go easy on her.
Ruby (finishes tying Iris's hair after Souji left): Ready to do your stretches?
Iris: Go easy on me.
(night flat Ruby room)
Iris (in her mind lying on the floor wearing her pajamas): One thing I learned today is that I have high pain resistance but my body is sore from the sparing. (lying to the side) Their way stronger than me but I hope I can get used to using a katana soon so I can catch up to their level.
(in Iris's dream past the house hallway)
Kid Iris (stopping at a light room rubbing her eyes): Did daddy come home?
(inside room)
Man (on his knees bowing while Iris opens the door wall a bit): Please boss listen to me.
Iris's dad (back towards the man holding a katana): Why should I listen? I was told the Night Tree gang has been doing things behind my back giving us the main family a bad name.
Man (looking at Iris's dad): Boss you're mistaken. Someone in the main family is lying to you.
Iris's dad: How could anyone lie to the head of the Sakura family? Each one of us followed our parents to keep the family alive to create more allies.
Man: Boss please listen.
Iris's dad (points the katana tip to the man's neck): Enough! Remember as the head of the family you put your faith in me.
Man: I understand boss. (bowing his head) I'll excuse myself.
The man stood up before walking towards the wall Iris was at but suddenly his head was cut off having blood splashed out the neck.
Iris's dad (while Iris steps away in shock having a bit of blood on her face): People who second question me will die.
