(Sunset Street)

Iris (in her mind while walking): How annoying. Today is the second time we spoke out of UGO. Why is he a stranger worrying about me? (looks at his phone seeing a message notification after feeling it vibrate) Why is that man messaging me? (puts her phone away) He's too dumb to notice (start walking) I despise him so much.

(one week later Saturday cafe)

Souji (sitting at the table wearing his street outfit while seeing Iris): Over here!

Iris (walking wearing her street outfit): You know you don't have to yell.

Souji (notice): It looks like something on your mind.

Iris (sitting on the opposite): What's your plan? Why are you sticking your nose in my business?

Souji: Normal people's eyes are bright but (crosses one of his legs while leaning back) yours are dim like how my eyes were so I know how you are feeling.

Iris: What feelings are those?

Souji: Lost. Confusion. Sometimes you'll wonder what's right and what's wrong. Other times you'll wonder if you can return to the light.

Iris (looks at Souji's eyes): I can see why you say people have bright eyes but there is still some dim colour left in your eyes.

Souji: Because I've done many bad things. I've been in a gang and hurt some people. However, someone along the way helped me and my parents forgave me.

Iris: How did your parents forgive you?

Souji: I promise to do better and only spill to protect someone else.

Iris: Sounds like you have loving parents.

Souji (smiling): My father is a policeman so he told me off a lot and he also arrested me.

Iris: Didn't you feel anything?

Souji: Of course I did. I was mad. Questioning why he was doing this but after he forgave me I understood it was part of his duty. He hid it but I could tell that he was hurt.

Iris: Because he must have thought he didn't show you the right path.

Souji: This happens during high school. I was one of those bad boys.

Iris: That's hard to believe but I can see it when I first met you. So do you really want me to have a better life like how yours is going?

Souji: Yes. I saw a small light in tour eyes. It's far but I do see hope.

Iris: Then as my first step. Do you want to be my friend? After all didn't someone say to put my trust in them? (smile a bit) That's something a friend would say.

Souji: Once we become friends you can't take it back.

Iris: I made my mind up Souji Takanda.

Souji: Let's order something while we chat. (open the menu) It's my treat.

Iris: I'll take a coffee and a sandwich.

Souji (after closing the menu): Excuse me, waiter.

Man waiter (after walking over): What can I do for you? Have you decided what you want to eat?

Souji: we'll take two coffees and a sandwich.

Man waiter (after writing on paper): What type of sandwich?

Iris: A bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich. (looking at the waiter) If you do those.

Man waiter: We do sell those. (taking the menu from Souji) I'll be back with your order.

Iris (after the waiter left): Aren't you going to eat?

Souji: I already eat.

Iris: Can I ask you a question?

Souji: You can ask me anything.

Iris: You have that bag with you right?

Souji (taking out a sword bag from under the chair): I do. It's a sword bag.

Iris: Why would you carry a sword bag?

Souji (opening the sword bag): To hide my katana and it's easy to carry around.

Iris (after Souji took out his katana): It looks like your avatar katana.

Souji (putting his katana back in the sword bag): I had someone remake it for me. Plus if a police stop me I have a licence.

Iris: Where did you get a licence?

Souji (closes the sword bag): My father made a licence for people to carry weapons to help the police from behind the scenes.

Iris (while the waiter comes putting three plates down): Did you make this decision?

Souji (pick up a cup while Iris eats the sandwich): I ask him how I could help the good people and stop the evil. He said I could assist him and make a licence to give me permission to do things that can help the police.

Iris: Maybe one day you have to show me your skills with a katana.

Souji: Enjoying your sandwich?

Iris: It's okay. Better than other cafes. Did you want to hang out just to eat?

Souji (standing after finishing his drink): No. (look at Iris while she finishes her drink) Once you're done let's walk while chatting after I paid for our food.

Iris (looking away having her cup away from her lips): Okay. (in her mind while finishing her drink) It feels weird being out on a Saturday. (standing after putting her drink down) During these days I'm getting money or materials on my main.
