(Iris's mum's room)
Iris (in her mind standing near the curtain looking at her mum): She looks so thin. I can tell she hasn't been eating well.
Iris's mum (after opening her eyes while in bed): Who's there?
Iris (walking to her mum while Souji closes the door): It's me, mum.
Iris's mum (while sitting up): I'm happy to see you. I hope you have been taking care of yourself.
Iris (bowing near the bed): I'm sorry. I shouldn't have left you alone with that man.
Iris's mum: Sweetie. I was never mad at you for leaving home. I would of contact you but I had a feeling you were mad at me for being a bad mum.
Iris (on her knees holding her mum's hand): I can't lie I was mad at you for a month but I was afraid to contact you.
Iris's mum (stroke Iris's head): Ever since you were little you were always honest.
Souji (standing by the curtain): Sorry for interrupting this nice moment but how are you feeling mam?
Iris's mum (shock): Is he your...
Iris (immediately standing while blushing): No Mum. He's my friend. I met him at my new college three weeks ago.
Iris's mum: So he's Mazoku.
Iris (surprised while looking at her mum): How did you know?
Iris's mum: I've been seeing you two a lot in the gaming world on YouTube and your accessories in public games events. (smiling) I've been watching you get popular Ishtar.
Iris: You're the one who gave me flowers at the last event.
Iris's mum: That's right. I had a feeling you would be mad at me if I gave you money so I decided to give you flowers when I could.
Iris: What am I going to do with you, mum? You need to take care of yourself.
Iris's mum: Can you get this old woman a cold drink?
Iris (before leaving): I'll get you a water bottle and a fruit. (while walking away) Souji keep an eye on my mother for me, please.
Souji: I will.
Iris's mum (after Iris left): I'm so happy to see that my daughter finally has a friend.
Souji (sitting on a chair near the bed): Iris has another friend she made today. Her name is Ruby. I'll bring her over one day.
Iris's mum: I can tell you want to ask something from me.
Souji: Forgive me but since you don't have that long to live because of your heart condition. I had to ask. Do you know what type of situation your husband is in?
Iris's mum: I do but it was thanks to that gang I met and fell in love with him. However, we changed after Iris came into this world. I tried to stop him but I got hurt since he's never happy with anything.
Souji: Then you should leave him and call the police.
Iris's mum: I'm doing this for Iris. If I left he would do anything to make her work for him. I have seen you work for the police when I'm on my way home from work.
Souji: But why are you telling me this when you know I'm doing police business for my father?
Iris's mum: It's a gut feeling but I see that you're trying to make my daughter's life better. When I saw her leave my home her eyes were so dark there was no colour. However today there was more colour.
Souji: Let's say I've been in her shoes. Before Iris gets back I must know what's your husband gang name is.
Iris's mum: They call the Blood Blossom gang.
Souji (shock): No way. He's the leader of the biggest gang in town. (in her mind) Everything makes sense now. No wonder the word blossom made me think of cherry blossoms. It's linked to Iris's surname.
Iris's mum (grabs Souji's hand): Please do what you can to protect my daughter.
Souji (standing after Iris's mum was suddenly in pain when she touched her chest): Mam.
(hallway)
Iris (carrying a water bottle and a plate that has slice-up apples that are shaped like a bunny): I remember Mum always cutting the apple like a bunny. (in her mind smiling) However, Mum's version is much better.
Suddenly doctors and nurses rush past Iris but when she arrives at her mum's room she immediately drops the plate and water bottle. While watching the doctors do their work Souji took Iris out of the room before sitting her down on a chair.
(hallway near Iris's mum's room)
Iris (while sitting on a chair): I never knew my mum had a heart condition.
Nurse (standing in front of Iris): Your mother is stubborn. She kept things to herself.
Souji (standing next to Iris): Excuse me but do you know her mother?
Nurse: I do. We are friends from high school but we went to different colleges however we were still texting each other. When you were a baby Iris we met once again and you looked so cute.
Iris: Did my mum always have a heart condition?
Nurse: She has been having it for two years. Your mum would have at least another three or four years to live but because of the stress and overworking her heart quickly worsened.
Iris: I see.
Nurse (see the other nurse and doctors come out): For now wait out here. I'll be back soon.
