"Captain Rivers, the shock troops cannot go further without taking losses. Enemy snipers in the sector ahead, should we force our way through?" A soldier asked, picking up a dead Gutterman's shield.

"No, sergeant. Have the NaVIgation AI scan this place. We'll find a way to ambush them from behind. Send the exp—no, specialists to do the job." Rivers replied, pulling his visor down and signaling to his men.

"Shock troops and assassination units, follow me. Use your suits to blend into the walls. Shock troops, when I signal, use your smoke shells to cover the area. Assassination units, use the acid release button in your wrist to blend into the wall while camouflaging. Anyone hurt or left behind will die in the dark, so keep pushing."

Briefing the soldiers, Rivers slowly opened the gates, dodging to the left as bullets clattered on where he stood.

Rivers signaled the shock troops with his hand, sending the smoke shells soaring. In an instant, the storage room was filled with white smoke, and the assassination units took action, darting to the walls and blending in seamlessly, unable to differentiate with the concrete.

The shock troops pulled down their visors to sense foreign electromagnetic signals as the assassination squad slowly spread out, surrounding the shelves and towers where the snipers hid.

Meanwhile, the specialists were backtracking their route to get through the backside.

"Training the AI will be easy. Dealing with you and this complex's defense systems might be hard. So," Senior infantry 'Gobler', the leader spoke, interrupted by infantry 'Joint'.

"Yeah, enough of your yap. We need to get to work." Joint said, pulling out a portable console and typing on it.

"I got the coordinates for the backdoor. It would take four minutes for the AI to get us a safe route." Joint reported as Gobler nodded.

"So far, so good. Now. Codename Volksführer and Hampter, hijack the security feeds. I'll accompany you." With Gobler's words, two men trudged forward, the enforcer and the saboteur.

"You seem serious today," Hampter remarked, placing the silencer into his pistol.

"This is a formal operation, not a day in the barracks. Now move, Volksführer and I will cover you." Gobler replied, pulling his visor down to see in the dark.

"You better keep this personality after this operation," Volksführer muttered, fixing his assault rifle.

"Me? Not professional? You must be seeing things." Gobler replied, holding a silenced MP5 in one hand while he fiddled with the mic on his head.

"Anyways, the rest of you stay and guard this sector. We will return shortly." Gobler announced, departing with the infiltration team.

"Take cover!" Khan shouted as smoke filled the storage facility. Purple light rays pierced through the grayish wall as the N.O.S.T. division opened fire. Their aim was true through the smoke, assisted by their optics and training. One by one, the snipers started to fall from their cover, shattering on the concrete below with bullet holes in their bodies.

"Worker drones, ready your grenades," Khan ordered, speaking through his walkie-talkie.

The sounds of safety pins unlatching filled the air as Khan directed the grenade to the entrance and threw it. The first explosion was a signal. Twenty more followed, and one of the grenades triggered a chain reaction, lighting up the smoke particles and creating a thermobaric explosion.
