The next afternoon when school let out, Vance, Jeremy, and I drove on over to the hospital to visit Gerard.
Even though he got in our nerves sometimes, it wouldn't hurt to pay him a friendly visit. So once the three of us were in the hallway, we went into Gerard's hospital room.
The paleness of his skin had gone down to more of his normal complexion. He looked like he was doing well.
He was on his phone when he looked up and saw us. "Wassup, Gerard. We were wondering how you were doing, so the three of us came to visit you. We also brought you some books to read while you're incapacitated." Jeremy said, breaking the silence.
Incapacitated? Jeremy must've been watching some doctor tv shows. "Thanks, guys. I appreciate it." Gerard replied.
After handing over the books and some cookies, Zack and Spencer showed up and we're surprised to see us there.
Instead of being rude or annoying, the two of them started talking about the mosquitoes and how some of more of the students were going to the nurse's office.
And all of the students who went to the nurse's office either went back to class, but most of them went home.
Something strange was going on, and even though Gerard and his buddies aren't exactly our friends, we might have to put our differences aside in order to find out what we could do about these mosquitoes.
After we did our homework together and exchanged phone numbers and notes for upcoming quizzes, Vance, Jeremy, and I left the hospital with Zack and Spencer.
It was nice getting along with them. After all, they were in the same boat that we were in now: finding out why the mosquito bites were so effective compared to normal mosquito bites.
Later that day, Gerard texted us that he'd be able to go home soon. The next day at school, Gerard was there with his friends.
He walked up to us and said "Hey, guys. I wanted to thank you for visiting me at the hospital yesterday."
The three of us nodded and said that we just relieved that you're okay now. Gerard chuckled and smiled as he and his friends went to class.
The bell rang as the three of us ran to our first class. It was nice to see that Gerard was out of the hospital.
